bluenose
Newlyn 5 - 9 Marazion ResA game with plenty of goals but also a lot of poor defending. We started the game brightly and created a few chances before Matty Thomas opened the scoring after about 15mins. He then beat the offside trap and squared the ball to Craig Rennard who had a simple tap in. Newlyn then halved the deficit when a shot was deflected through our keeper's legs. 2-1 at half time.Second half and we created plenty of chances (the majority falling to Liam Mooney) but it was Sanjay Vadgama who cleverly scooped the ball over the keeper when he had his back to goal. Liam finally converted one of his chances and at 4-1 it seemed that we would continue to bang in the goals. To Newlyn's credit they continued to attack and following a cross, their winger bundled over the ball at the far post. They then scored again straight away when Jason O'Sullivan intercepted a pass and decided to pass back to our keeper. However, he side footed it straight to their striker who had just the keeper to beat. Thankfully Liam had found his scoring touch and hit one from distance that took a wicked bounce which deceived the keeper. Matty then scored his second giving us a three goal cushion. Newlyn scored again after we failed to clear a corner but a cracking volley from Liam after a cross field pass from Sanjay, another volley from Craig and a header from a corner by myself wrapped up the points making it 9-4 in our favour. Newlyn scored the final goal of the day late on.3 hard fought points against a team with a never say die attitute, which keeps us within touching distance of Camborne Park. Game was well reffed by Birchy although he did get some grief from some of our players.Kevin WaiteJason O'SullivanDanny TaylorAdam CaulAdam Martin 1Stevie HuntDale VigusCraig Rennard 2Liam Mooney 3Sanjay Vadgama 1Matty Thomas 2SubsTom (Dont know Surname sorry)MOM - Sanjay Vadgama, scored one and set up most of the othersD**k of the day - Jason O'Sullivan, for the shocking back pass which lead to the Newlyn goal

MoodyWisp
Mousehole 3rd 3-2 Lizard Argyle Probably one of the best games I personally have played in. Having not known anything about Lizard the manager decided a 4-5-1 formation was needed, boss the midfield loft it to alex and score simple..... Oh if only.... first chance of the game fell to the lizard number 14 tall lanky chap with lots of running a shot across the goal neatly tipped wide with a one for the camera dive and it wasnt long before another chance fell to the same player as a long keepers kick was missed by the defender the resulting one on one was saved with a fingertip save to divert the ball wide, the resulting corner was swung in a simple header from the number 8 of Lizard (i think) was scuffed and bobbled into the hands of the grateful keeper. not much happened for the next 15 minutes or so as mousehole came on the offencive, some long shots from Matty Johns and Tom Hooper brought neat saves from the Lizard keeper but all in all it was a poor first half an hour from Mousehole as the long ball just want working, a note mind you, the pitch was green but far to green 2 inches at LEAST! not sure what happenes with these pitches but for our first home game i thought it wasnt right to play on it, but there we go... Tidy 1 2 with the lizard right midfield and number 14 almost results in a goal on the near post, a thunderous drive palmed away for another corner. the first half was over in a flash, but not before the first really good passing move from Mousehole right before the whistle a closs was drilled in accros the 6 yard box and Alex was unlucky not to get a touch and divert it into the net... 0-0 half time and a fair result (kinda) Nothing to note at all for the first 25 minutes of the second half other than again the number 14 for Lizard running onto a lofted pass and a instant shot on the turn hit the side netting.... THEN THE FUN BEGINS .... 71mins.... A freekick 40 yards out was quickly taken while everyone was bemoaning the desision.. Everyone switched off including lizard but for there i think number 9 who had a simple tap in from 7 yards out, the keeper got a little touch on it but it wasn't enough and despite the efforts of Simon Harvey the ball lofted into the goal and its 0-1 against the run of play in my opinion and the pass and move play from Mousehole wasn't that bad.. 80mins... a corner for Lizard results in Maradona coming out of retirement and donning a Orange top, As the keeper jumps for the ball the Lizard player could have looked the part in a bloody volleyball game but is adjudged to have HEADED the ball past the keeper, now i know im fat bastard and i cant jump how it was missed by OUR lino AND the ref Christ knows ( we had a little banter after with the ref and he genuinely didn't see it ) Simon Harvey almost gets sent of protesting and the keepers suffering from sore foot through kicking the crap outta the post in rage... its 0-2 and Mousehole up against it down and pissed off.... 84mins.... Simon Harvey steps up with a managers goal and maybe to rescue somthing from the game, a scrappy goal which was eventually scuffed into the corner in off the post from 18 yards out.... theres hope... Lizards players start to wobble, they lose there shape Mouseholes stand in right back Jamie Woolcock in place of the injured Steven Bell had a fine last 15 minutes, being left at the back while everyone else pushed forward he was a rock and helped defuse numerous counterattacks. Shane Holland the 2 liams on the left hand side and Hooper eventually started working really well together and in the last 5 minutes some sublime passing between these players resulted in a couple of corners, the latter was turned into there own net with some dodgy defending, its 2-2 with 89mins gone, the ref says 2 minutes to go. straight from the kick off Hooper fly's into the 2 center forwards stealing the ball right from the kick off and the boys are on the charge for the winner! the attack fizzles out with the ball in the hands of the keeper who launches it deep into Mousehole territory an edgy 45 seconds and wild clearances leaves the ball on the left hand side touchline and a lizard throw, there's less than a minute to go, the balls thrown in deep, headed clear, Greg Olds picks up the ball just inside his half and charges forward, this is it last chance, a despairing last ditch tackle on the very edge of the box according to the ref, although its since been shown to have been inside the box, to be fair the player got the ball but he got the player as well, its one that on other days wouldn't have been given, but then, i think the ref equaled out the horrendous error on the Lizard second goal... 3 minutes pass while everyone's giving the ref grief the defenders and Keeper are on the half way line praying for miracles... last kick of the game a lofted cross rather than shot from tom Hooper falls perfectly to Tulip (Shane) after a scuffed clearance, he smashes it into the back of the net and anyone would think we had won the world cup... ... no time for anymore football and the whistle blows after a direct shot from kick off sails wide of the goal, never seen a comeback like it down and out with just under 10 minutes to go.... credit to lizard with the exemption of there keeper they took it as well as to be expected. they did come back to mousehole FC for a drink... a mixed game for the ref he means well thou so you cant really give him stick, but there were some dubious ones. and i personally apologize for the use of my language after a cameo performance from Maradona... Good luck to Lizard cya at your place soon enough, our next game is wendron 4ths, in another game that should be on paper a close contest.... Man of the Match difficult to say really Matty Johns put in a shift and always looked lively, a commanding performance in the middle of the pitch.. although i cant fault any of our players today they all put in 120%
