With 10 goals scored in the last two games and only two conceded Helston seem to have got over a bad period,Ritchie Full is back in the dug out a new goalkeeper in Martin Webster,The back line looking a lot tighter now that Chris Strike and Ben Stids are back playing nearly 90 mins I most give alot of credit to the two centre backs last night Terry Row and Arron Collick who started a game playing togeather as centre backs for the first time and looked comfortable for the whole game, the mid field pair Thommo and Charlie held there own last night with the two of them up against a Penryn three, Jamie Thirkle is nearly back to full fitness and Matt Fox who was out last night through injury but his replacement Phil Black (second team player) had a excelent game scoring the second goal. Up front Dan Stids and Goldie both on the score sheet again and given time should form a great partnership oh yes how can I forget our supper sub Milchy. The game itself was dominated in the first half by Helston using their wide men to great effect,H/T 0;2(goldie and Blackie), second half was more Penryn but there was a lot of long ball and stop start with a few fouls again the other two gaols for Helston (D Stids and Milchy)coming from playing down the flanks. With Ash Stids,Hugh Howlett, Matt Fox,Tom Russell to return to the team and Danny Ford joining the strenght of the squad is looking good.

fraser cadman and kevin lawrence havent added much to penryn. maybe unsettled their team?

didn't they both start at helston at the start of the season ???

Yes they both started off there, weren't guaranteed starting places so moved on. Fraser is a combo player and doesnt make the grade IMO

yeah he came down to st day and then left for penryn I think hes good just criticises to much but kev is good and should do well at a peninsula team this season

Python In the lineup last night there was a lad called Jamie Lightfoot? Is he 2nd team or a new signing? Didn't get to watch the game but hearing plenty of positives about this Helston side in the past couple of weeks

Danny, didn't you start with Truro this season? What happened there?

Not the first time you have fallen out with Matt either. I remember when we came to your place last season and Mr Harris had a Phil Brown inspired team talk on the pitch at half time, which led to you been substituted at the break.

Your obviously a good goal scorer, hopefully won't disrupt the side. I realise this might sound to be against you, but it isn't! Hope it works out for you and Helston. Oh and does this mean you no longer tip St Day for the senior cup like on another thread? ;)

Wasn't the boy Ricks meant to be signing?

What I know of the situation in relation to Kevin and Frazer is that after Hayle dropped out of the league thay were looking for another club so Sid offered them the chance to do pre-season at Helston with the team already very strong in the positions they favoured they had a choice stay and fight for a place or leave and get regular first team footie else where and the rest is history.Regarding Lee and Carl Ricks over the last couple of seasons they have become good mates with the Helston lads always having a bit of banter somethink that seems to have vanished from Cornish footie but with Carl now at G and Lee washing glasses in the St D clubhouse lol we wish them all the best for the season. Not seen Danny or Jamie play that much so cant comment but good luck lads and welcome to Kellaway park, hope you choice a good song for your initiation !!!!Heard Goldie belted out a cracker last Sat.

I was at truro for pre season that's correct just didn't feel it was the right club for me and I enjoyed st day the season before me and matt just have a clash off opinions he is still a good friend and we speak all the time but he has 13 other players to manage and with us having the clash effects the team so its best I left and I wouldn't go to helston and disrupt there squad im there to win things and do my best for sid and the lads and I had a brilliant season last year with st day they have a good club and backroom staff especially the groundsman the pitch is fantastic and I do thinkg st day can do real damage when they have a full squad in the senior cup good luck to them but im not interested in st day now my focus is with helston afc thanks :)

I think you'll find Kevin and Frazer had already left Hayle, as had most of last years team before Hayle pulled out of SWPL.

Carl and myself get on very well with the lads at helston, having played county with Hughy we've got to no a few of the boys through him. The banter is always a great laugh with them, after every game we play, there are usually drink exchanges between the 2 sides, (by the way youngy u owe me a pint ;))

As for signing for helston, it would be a great club to play for, and I would love to play with the lads, only thing is is the hour drive for every home game, struggling to train etc, it's a lot of traveling.

Helston are on a cracking run at the moment and I feel they will def be in the top 2 again this year. Great bunch of lads and a great club. Looking forward to the visit to urs.

Good luck Saturday lads.

Try being less arrogant and im sure other teams would oblige. As a spectator of 5 or 6 Helston games last season I would say thats something you need to work on!

Good point mate if Sid is reading this I'm sure he will take note of it because at the end of the day if you watched 5-6 games last season you must of enjoyed some of the things the team did on the pitch (thats me being glass half full) and if you are saying players who receive no money for playing for there club are arrogant (4 of which I know have also been offered financial rewards for moving but stayed with the club)anyway Sid I hope your reading because things need to change if you want to see more of druth1966.

Porthleven 3 - Wadebridge 2

Speaking as a neutral, it wasn't a bad game to watch. Porthleven dominated the first half and looked by far the better team. It wasn't until the second half that Wadebridge finally woke up and began to play the way they obviously can. Must have been quite a roasting from the coach.

On balance it was probably the right result.

Look Kempy, Keith B is back !!!!!!
