Cracking game at illogan tonight, illogan playing with 10 men for 50 to 55 mins and 1 nil up until 15 to go, tired legs started to kick in and an own goal equaliser deflated the legs a bit more lol, 2 cracking late strikes from ludgvan sealed it but result was more flattering than it suggests, great battle from illogans 10 men, well done lads and good luck to ludgvan as well, played some good stuff

St Just 2 - St Ives 0

Both teams contributed to a surprisingly quiet game. Some great moves by the Tinners resulted in a well worked goal for Darren Steadman and they went in deservedly 1-0 at half time. St Ives had a better second half but lost their way towards the end. The Tinner's gave everything in the second half but their second goal when it came, had a touch of the bizarre about it. It seemed to me that the linesman had flagged off side when a bad back pass allowed the ever eager Steadman to strike again. For a moment there was doubt about the goal but the ref, after consulting with the linesman, waved both teams back to the centre circle to restart and the goal stood.

Well played St Just, three good points. Don't write St Ives off though.

Hi Keith B.....

I got to the game at the start of the 2nd half and still managed to see both goals ???????

Ps great to see Willie back at his station, real character of the club

Illogan 1, Ludgvan 3

Cracking game of football. Well, not so much football but a lot of cracking! Both sides wanted it, possibly the sending off (justified, retaliation against a foul that wasn't given) made the difference: who knows? Fierce opener from Pat Shaughnessy, unfortunate own goal for the equaliser, one of the best strikes you'll see anywhere in the County for Ludgvan's 2nd and the third made the scoreline a bit skewed. Great contest to watch - excellent value for my concessionary £1 entry! Plus, over the wall, an Under-10's game going on: young lads enjoying organised club football like never existed in my day. Splendid stuff and really good to see the club having the use of that field for their youngsters.

The field next to the main ground has been used by the youth section for a long time with kind permission of our land lady .It will be used by nearly 200 boys and girls this year from 5 to 13 years old so if your ever looking for something to do on a sunday morning come along and have a look at some of the stars of the future.
