rougvie
Can anyone help me with directions to grounds at - Constantine? Frogpool/Cusgarne? Ludgvan? Stithians? Mousehole? And most of all, Portreath! Do they exist? Thanks Rougvie
Guest Postie Pidge
Constantine's ground (Trebarvah Road) is easy to find, it is located next to the school at the top end of the village (with the Social Club next door). Frogpool/Cusgarne - After coming through Ponsanooth (heading for Redruth), turn right at the Stithians crossroads and take the immediate left turning. Follow the road for about a mile or so until you come to another crossroads with a red phone box. Go straight on and ground is about 20 yards on the right. Stithians - Ground is the Stithians Show Ground on Tubbon Hill. Coming through Ponsanooth (heading for Redruth), take the turning marked Stithians and follow road for about a mile and you can't miss it. Ludgvan - Haven't been there for a while but the ground is in Ludgvan Leaze, follow signs for the Village Hall. Mousehole - Trungle Park is located up a narrow dirt track in the village of Paul. They have enough followers on this site to explain it better. Portreath play at Clijah Croft, the council playing fields at Wheal Trefusis, on Southgate Street in Redruth. Come straight through Lanner and over the top of the hill and it's on the left.
cornishteddyboy
For Ludgvan If you are coming down the A30. In the centre of Crowlas turn right at crossroads. Follow road, past school on left, past pub on your right. Road bears left and down. Turn left and after 50yds left again. Village hall is 50yds on left by car park. Football field is behind building. For Mousehole. Along Penzance prom into Newlyn At crossroads at bottom start of Newlyn go across and strait up Newlyn hill. Go right over top and follow round a sharp left-hand bend. Should be a turning on the left. Go down that and follow into village. Past mini garage on left then road kinks goes down. On right are a dirt track and tarmac lane. Both go towards Mousehole's ground as they join together after 200yds.. Can't remember if there is a stream beteen track and lane.
rougvie
Thanks Postie Clijah Croft is a bit overworked. I know Four Lanes play there too. Why are Portreath playing there? Where was their home ground? Rougvie
cornishteddyboy
Portreath were playing at RAF Portreath at one time.
rougvie
Thanks CTB Is there a website that includes ground directions? Even the clubs' own websites rarely include them. They should. Rougvie
Guest Postie Pidge
Four Lanes, Redruth United and Reserves, Portreath and Reserves, Carharrack Reserves (occasionally) and Lanner all play there. A few seasons ago they were playing at RAF Portreath, which was a nice set up. I believe they started last season at the nototious Raymond Road
Soccer Follower
Pidge - I think that you'll find the Richard Jory Playing Field on the right hand side of the road over the crossroads.
rougvie
RAF Portreath - I went to try to find Portreath's ground last season and was directed up there. Was met by an obviously bemused bloke with a gun. Did they previously play in the RAF compund? Were there security searches for all?
cornishteddyboy
If you've got time and go on the Cornwall FA website and their home page there is a link called GET INTO FOOTBALL. If you click on this it will take you to another page and on that is a link that says FIND A CLUB. Bang in the name of clubs and see what comes up. For say Mousehole it gives the full address and if you click on the POSTCODE you will get a GOOGLE map that you could print off for yourself. Mind you only some teams have postcodes but you will at least have addresses. Guest Postie Pidge
Oops SF, maybe I should try turning up there sometime. Yeh Rougvie, they play on the base and when we played their youngsters in a friendly years ago, we had to submit all the players names on a piece of paper
cornishteddyboy
I stayed at RAF Portreath with scouts once and they wanted names and addresses of each person in our cars (and the same people had to travel in the same cars all the time while on site, no swopping cars). Plus we had the same at Culdrose when we used their pool over there for swimming galas. We wern't allowed to park and walk we had to be escorted in a convoy to the pool and back to the gates. Paparazzi
Would it be a good idea to set up a pinned topic in the Main Discussion board or in the relevent sub sections for club contact information, addresses, club officials and directions to, in? Mind you it would be a LARGE topic! What i could do then is everytime someone adds the info we need i`ll add it to the main topic so that its in one main window. What do you think? cornishteddyboy
To difficult to look after Paps as it would be changing almost daily with resignations, change of managers, etc. Plus not every club has a rep on the forum to help keep it updated. Work out how many clubs there are. Look at the County website and let them do it for us.
Guest postman pat
Postie pidge i think you will find that Lanner play at Tresavean, up the hill oposite the Coppice in the village :drink:
Guest Postie Pidge
Lanner seem to chop and change between Tresavean and Clijah. I'm pretty sure some teams played there earlier in the season but by the end of it they were at Clijah
