Foxhole 2 Dobwalls 3

Recommended Posts

Three officials last night at a cost of £93, apparantly you get three officials for a midweek game or a cup game, only one for a league game played on a saturday. Game wasn't the best Foxhole must stop conceeding stupid goals, Billy needs to bring in some new faces and fast.

the game wasnt the best no. but with both teams struggling with players out not alot could be expected. we had our striker adie walton in goal for 40mins cos ellis couldnt get there on time. foxhole also had players missing the likes of dylan, bullock and scot hill who would of made a big difference. overall just happy to get the result and looking forward to millbrook on sat with hopefully some players returning.

Foxhole 2 Dobwalls 3

Wednesday 29th August 2007

An 88th minute winner from Matt Lindsay denied depleted Foxhole a deserved first point of the season after another battling performance high on effort but low on genuine quality, especially in the final third. With Meens having already departed, Hill working and both Bullock and Dillon still injured (and soon to be suspended) this was a spirited display against the odds, but the need for new blood is now beyond urgent.

Backed by a strong wind, Dobwalls made the early running and went ahead on 9 minutes when Steve Tapper volleyed home a near post corner, but their young side failed to press home the advantage and allowed the Foxes to equalise 12 minutes later. Warne swung in a free-kick, Souness failed to clear and Panter, who had missed a great chance after only 3 minutes, headed over Walton, who was covering for the late arriving Glassup. Lawrence then cleared off the line from Bartlett, but generally the lively visiting attack were being contained by the Foxhole defence in which Grose was again prominent.

After the break, Ames and Rowe each went close and it was against the run of play when Hake nipped in front of a hesitant Holland to nod Dobwalls back in front on 56. The keeper then saved well from Lindsay and Hake before Glassup smothered Grose's effort and Panter tamely headed over Warne's corner, during a period of Foxhole dominance with Rowe now at centre-forward.

On 77, Grose's unavoidable obstruction on Hake was bizarrely punished with a penalty but justice was done when Lindsay blazed over; within seconds, Rowe's bullet header was cleared onto his own bar by Dan Tapper before debutant Morris looped a fantastic header past Glassup to make it all square. Frustration among the visitors boiled over as Martin and Wilson were booked for fouls, and Hake for dissent, prior to the late decider, gleefully thumped in from close range after Holland had brilliantly turned away Caers' initial effort.

Foxhole(4-4-2): Ryan Holland 7; Adam Rowe 6, David Grose 7, Mark Rowe 7, Dexter Lawrence 7; Richard Fairclough 6, Jason Warne 6, Andrew May 6, Steve Panter 7; Liam Ames 6, Liam Nicholls 6 (sub. Colin Morris 6).

Dobwalls(4-3-3): Adrian Walton (sub. Ellis Glassup); Alex Martin, Dan Tapper, Nick Souness, Barry Crane; Steve Tapper, Spencer Wilson, Lee Caers; Jack Bartlett, Matt Lindsay, Martyn Hake.

Referee: Mr S Robins (Royal Navy) 7

Linesmen: Mr Paul Roberts & Mr G Allen.

sorry darin but that report is not very accurate is it. deserved point im not sure about to be honest. the second goal came from a free kick which should of been a dobwalls free kick. i wasnt taken out for the penalty barlett was and it was easily a pen. steve tapper had the shot that holland turned away before lindsays goal. and second goal against the run of play?? not sure bout that either. perhaps a neutral could provide some thoughts as we are obviously biased to our respective teams. all the best for the rest of the season to billy and all the boys at foxhole
