kinda gonna try write a report of some sorts where too start.....

we arrived at illogan and definitely knew were in for a tough game and the wet slippery conditions and a strong wind were gonna make it even harder, we just knew if worked hard for each other we were in with a shot. the pitch was in good condiiton as always as the illogan groundstaff some of the best around,

we kicked off and for first 10-15 minutes we dominated causing numerous problems for helston back 4 and helston not being able to get there influential centre midfield on to the ball, in this period of pressure pete norfolk was brought down in the box, and reece prout missed resulting penaltie cup final jitters maybe!!!

But only a few minutes after prout made a strong run forward before finding myself i launched 35 yard diagonal ball into back post where captain jason fenton reached it before helstons keeper and 1-0, even though guys behind goal said no-one touched it so i will claim ;)

We had a couple more chances from set-pieces with helstons keeper looking very shakey with anything put into the box, however helston got back in the game when clumsy challenge by myself on helston captain phil black, spot-kick to helston parks keeper tom collet saved it but helston number 9 reacted quickest to put rebound away! but straight away at other end another set-piece was won after good play down right between hardworking jordan knuckey and marcus grasso, from resulting corner fenton powered his header home 2-1, from this moment on half hour til half-time helston took control but park still looking dangerous on the counter-attack....

helston star man captain phil black seen more and more of the ball and couple close chances with there winger and striker going close with good efforts, then helston had free- kick a good delivery into box but midfielder and on day man of match mike finlay nicked it away from the helston cb about 6 yards out! however park had set piece close to half-time but helston cleared and broke away there striker found there winger who calmly slotted past advancing collett, half-time 2-2..

some choice words by both managers i am sure, and we started again helston were ambushing the park half playing a high line and pressuring us into silly mistakes but we dug and even with all their posession did not get a real clear cut chance all second half, credit to hardwork of defence for that! however on about 65 minutes right back martin richards won the ball and played defence splliting pass releasing top scorer grasso and he done what he had done all season and slotted the ball into net ( does not remember though smashed by keeper during) ....the workrate of wingers knuckey and norfolk was outstanding, man match finlay and prout were everywhere in middle and defense were solid and collet in goal was a calming influence proper team effort

from this moment on it was an arm wrsetle constant pressure from helston and after 3 changes from park in last 10 it was deal of holding on and keeping shape, helston had couple set pieces one was headed off-line by malcolm nicholls and another important block by captain fenton, collet was claiming loads of long balls and crosses helping his defence out, whistle blew 3-2 park great game, two great teams great final

:) back to storm tonight and troon tomorrow fantastic!

Fair report of the match stoke fan, Our team started very nervously and was relieved only to be 1 down in first 20 minutes. We never really managed to play our normall free flowing football that has served us so well this season. To go in level at half time was a relief for us...and thought we would come out dominating second half with the wind in our favour. Thought your keeper was superb second half held on to everything. The sending off only served to make it more difficult for us, but we kept trying in vain. Our keeper was gutted after the match he knew he made 2 mistakes and is normally so solid. having played in the area junior cup final for the seconds last year he said he was more nervous about this final!!. Am proud of our young team, for some their first season in adults football, and am sure they will compete in many more finals in the coming years.

Congratulations to Camborne Park from all at Helston football club....am sure you had a great night!

yes, i totally agree, 2nd half of the game was dominated by your guys and we hit one counter attack and scored, and yes the wind definitely a leveller and both midfields were into eachother very quickly not giving eachother time on the ball, as knew eachothers potential threats if given time and space, yes very glad our keeper is pretty solid and a very good keeper aswell is yours first goal was nightmare to deal with ball moving everywhere in box and we have lads in box who are very good aerially and 2nd well wind was moving ball everywhere on another day the scramble could gone the other day, your a tad like us just joined progressing and seem to be enjoying playing together i am sure we,ll have two great games in div 4 next season
