Hayle (3) 4 West Cornwall (3) 3

Last kick of the game (90) equalizer for West Cornwall and a last minute ET winner for Hayle.

Must say a massive well done to both sides for serving up a treat in the glorious sunshine at Illogan! Game could of went either way. Hayle 2 up, WC pull it back only for Hayle to take the lead again. Just when you thought it was all over, WC score with the last kick of the game. Pretty even ET, WC missed a one-on-one which should of been scored in the 1st period. Hardly a chance other than that, then Hayle score with a glancing header at the death. Speaking as a spectator, thought Hayle were good value for their lead, but from 2-1 WC were probably the better side. Awful way to lose, think penalties would of added to the drama, and although they are a lottery, would of been a great way to settle a game that had nearly everything. Congrats to Hayle, commiserations to WC, but on behalf of everyone watching, Thanks for the entertainment. Both sides a credit to your clubs, and yourselves.

Russel Hall Cup

Chacewater 1 v 0 Rangers

Thought Rangers were really unlucky to lose this one. The day didn't start well for us when are keeper got injured in the warm up. Are leading scorer had to go in the sticks, to be fair he is a cracking keeper as well. Quick change to the formation before we even start, 3 4 3 to 3 5 2. Chacewater had a similar problem after about 10 minutes when one of their defenders had to go off with a split above his eye. (Hope all is OK now). First half was all about missed chances and a midfield scrap. Rangers all to often failing to hit the mark when it mattered most.

Second half was more of the same and with about 15 to go Chacewater got the all important goal. A straight shot which bounced before the keeper and moved off the floor. 1 Nil Chacewater. Rangers continued to make opportunities and now through that extra man up top 3 4 3. In all honesty Chacewater defended well and we could still be out there now trying to score. So when the final whistle blew it was Chacewater lifting the cup.

Thanks to the referees for their efforts. So much better when you know the lines are being done for you. Thanks to Chacewater for a good hard game and thanks to Wendron for the facilities. Finally thanks to my lot you were a credit to the Club and yourselves unlucky boys.

Not much to add to above.only to thank Porthleven for a tough game played in the correct spirit. The way players and fans celebrated at the final whistle showed how much the club wanted to win a trophy. The game itself was well officiated and not to many clear cut chances.Overall a great day and one that the driver and non chacewater passengers of the bus from chace to truro will remembers for a while.
