Torpoint Athletic 15-0 Bodmin Saints

Great bunch of lads from Bodmin. Kept going till the end. Could've been more in all honesty. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Camelford won away at Lanivet despite being up against it. They had bare 11 and were reduced to 10 men at the start of the 2nd half.

Lanivet scored 1st with a cross early in the first half and camelford equalised through captain williams following a quickly taken corner. Then camelford took the lead with a deft header from dazza. The camelford goal scorers were Ryan Williams and Darren Watmough.

Good win from the boys, well battled and kept our good run of form going, very pleased.

Calstock 1 - 2 st cleer

Good game played in good spirit. St cleer probably the more talented side but they came up against a fired up calstock today and some might say they were lucky to get all 3 points.

St cleer missed a few chances but calstock also missed a penalty and nearly snatched a last minute equaliser.

St cleer were a good bunch and wish them all the best for the rest of the season.

Once again superbly refereed by Ian Spurling. I see people complaining regularly on this forum about the standard of the officials but the quality has been superb over the last few months. Having played a few P&D games this season I can safely say that duchy refereeing is far superior.

Got torpoint on Wednesday :/

JJ Jones Duchy Football League from Michael Newcombe

Saltash United had a disappointing conclusion to their Premier Division season as they surely surrendered any last hopes of the runners spot with a crushing 4-1 home defeat to Fowey United. The visitor’s off the back of a surprise midweek defeat at Probus scored through Rory Barnicle, Luke Giles, Anthony Hillman and Josh Frampton. Josh Tapp replied for Saltash.

AFC St.Austell are homing in on the title after thrashing Probus 7-1 away from home. It was a game where everything the visitor’s hit went in and the home club fared completely opposite fortunes. Zak Michell scored the home consolation.

St.Columb Major remain just above the relegation places after a 2-1 home defeat to Lamerton. St.Columb took a 7th minute lead from a Casey Hawkey header. Defensive frailties then came to the fore and after conceding a needless free kick, Adam Weller put through his own net from the resultant kick. Another defensive error allowed Simon Breyley a free header to give the visitors a 20th minute lead. The second half was mainly dominated by St.Columb. They were unlucky to have a goal ruled out for offside in the last minute and saw a good effort tipped over the bar, but their worries continue.

A much weakened St.Newlyn East line-up with a number of players rested for Bank Holiday Monday’s KO Cup Final took an 11-1 thumping at Mevagissey. Incredibly it was the visiting side that took the lead from a Joss Geach goal in the 3rd minute. After that it was a stroll in the sunshine for Mevagissey who scored at regular intervals. Glyn James scored a hat trick and there was a brace apiece for Adam Trudgeon, Chris Dingle and substitute Martin Davy. The remaining goals were scored by Miles Gardner and Jamie Hellier.

Calstock are all but relegated after a 2-1 home loss to St.Cleer. Mike Waldron scored the home goal with Jordan Goodison-Powell and an own goal giving St.Cleer the points in a game that featured a superb performance from the referee.

Bodmin Saints are also in danger after only being able to take nine men for their journey to Torpoint Athletic and being on the end of a fifteen goal drubbing, but all credit to those that played. Ricky Shepherd hit a hat trick with Dean Cardew, Lawrence Murray, Tom Rothwell, Luke Gibbons and Graham O’Neill all striking a brace. Goals from Dominic Murray and Sam West completed the rout.

Maker with Rame has ensured their place in Division One next season after a fine 5-0 win at Week St.Mary leaves the home club tottering on the brink of the drop. Lewis Rodney scored a brace with Rob Edwards, Luke Jones and Ian Bruzon completing the scoring.

Altarnun won a seventh successive game as they won 2-0 at Gunnislake. Sam Smith and Josh Harris scored the goals.

Looe Town remain second after defeating Grampound 2-1. Matt Barton scored both home goals with Will Watson replying for Grampound.

Pensilva still have eight games to go after beating St.Dennis 3-1 and are still favourites to take a promotion place. Steve Rendle, Sam Rogers and Jon Filbey were the home scorers.

Polperro have slipped out of the promotion race after losing 1-0 at home to a Ben Colquhoun goal for Godolphin midway through the first half. Godolphin go into Monday’s KO Cup Final on a fine run of form lying third and closing in on the leaders.

North Petherwin will finish third in Division Two after a Joe Reeve hat trick eased them to a 6-0 defeat of Gerrans & St.Mawes United. Dan Warring, Kenny Channing and Tom Foulds completed the scoring.

Tregony are leaving Division Three with a whimper after an eight goal hammering at Welcome Inn. Karl Orchard and Tom Pickering scored a brace apiece with Gary Dunphy, Scott Sampson, Mike Browne and Aidan Jepson completing the rout.

Lanivet Inn ended an up and down season with a 2-1 home defeat by Camelford. Chris Jennings put Lanivet ahead, but Camelford who were reduced to ten men early in the second half hit back with goals from Ryan Williams and Darren Whatmough to give them the spoils.

North Hill clinched the Division Four title with Talisker Donahue scoring all three goals in their comfortable 3-1 win at Grampound reserves. Ryan Orchard scored a late consolation goal for Grampound.

Torpoint Comrades are edging closer to avoiding the drop after a good one all draw with Mevagissey reserves. Curtis Evans scored their goal.

Lifton stay in third after defeating St.Cleer reserves 4-2. Gavin Ellacott scored a brace with Jon Kappes and Dave Prynne also finding the target. St.Cleer drop back into the bottom two on goal difference.

Gorran have seem their season implode in the last few weeks. They dominated the first half at Pensilva reserves, but were faced by a determined opponent. Jacob England scored the games only goal early in the second half as Pensilva matched their visitor’s. Gorran had a chance near the end to save a point, but missed from the penalty spot.

Division Five Champions Veryan showed no mercy in their final fixture coasting to a 10-1 win at Tregrehan Mills. Craig Phillips was chief tormenter with five goals while Justin Trebilcock hit a brace. Andy Wheildon, Gary Wheildon and Bobby-Lee Johns completed their tally with Tom Adams getting the lone home goal.

St.Merryn seem unlikely to take a promotion slot after being held one all at North Petherwin reserves. Gareth Hutchings scored for the hosts with Ben Curtis replying.

Southgate Seniors kept their promotion hopes alive with a 5-0 win at St.Mawgan reserves.

Great result for the Green Army and their travelling supporters and this win finally secures a first league title in a good few years.

Lanreath made us work hard for the points and the only downside of the day was the result meant the home side were relegated to Division 3.

Good luck to Lanreath next season and thanks for the way you applauded us when we went up to receive the Duchy 2 League Trophy; much appreciated.

We now face 3 games inside a week with the final game being our cup final against our local rivals St Merryn on 14th May at Bodieve Park, Wadebridge.

We know it wont be easy but will go to the final not taking anything for granted.

The only thing I can promise is that the team will give it their all.
