Chris Davey
James Hosking, Probus manager has asked me to post the below report about tonights game. Probus 4-2 Fowey Massive game for both teams. Fowey searching to retain their title and Probus fighting for survival. A really competitive game which saw a midfield battle throughout and several chances by both teams. Early doors Fowey displayed their passing prowess and had the early running forcing two fine saves from Billy Holland. Probus snatched the lead through Ross Vicary who finish well from 15 yards on the 12 minute. 54 minutes in Probus won a penalty which was dispatched by Vicary making it 2-0. Fowey kept their composure and themselves won a penalty when Andrew Pearce handled in the area. Spot kick was placed keepers bottom right, almost saved by Holland. Fowey battled and deserved their equaliser on 65 mins in a well worked move. Fowey rallied for the winner, but it was Probus who showed their metal and battled with massive intent. On the break in the 79th minute sub Callum Turner put Dan Vincent through who slotted with confidence. Probus confirmed their deserved win in the 85th minute when Andrew Pearce saw the keeper off his line and drilled a 45 yard rocket into the back of the net. Huge win for Probus who now need 3 points from 4 games to secure their position in the Premiership.. Thank you Fowey for a great game, well refereed also by Referee Colin.
