Richard Rundle
Because leg-breaking tackles get a maximum of 3 games? He should have got a red card at the time, a 3-match ban and that should have been the end of it. Thoroughly distasteful yes, dangerous, no not really

Brianmooreshead
I'm no fan of Liverpool or Suarez, but John Terry got eight games for racial abuse 10 games seems a lot for something that everytime I see it looks more comical than ever

St Darren
Terry got 4 games for racial abuse, Suarez got 8. It was crazy what Suarez did and deserves a lengthy ban, but once again the fa set themselves up for abuse. Less of a ban for racial abuse than a bite. No defending Suarez but the fa leave themselves open to things. What happened in holland should have nothing to do with it, different fa. Players don't carry bookings or suspensions over when they move to a different country. Defoe got booked cos the ref saw it. Would have been interesting if the refs report said he seen it to see what the fa would have done then
Guest
If something like this happened at SWL or Combo level would a similar ban be imposed? Agree with St Darren re comments about the FA.
Goldeneye
Mark Lawrenson agrees with the 10 match ban and a lot of Liverpool fans on various phone-ins think Liverpool should sell Suarez.
isaac rosenberg
Absolute nonsense. Unless we are playing Liverpool in the next ten matches, this will probably be of more benefit to Chelsea's opponents for the title. By all means ban Suarez from Liverpool's next 10 games against Chelsea, then we might manage to beat them. Course Liverpool won't sell him, he's an exceptional player. As long as he keeps scoring they won't care if he demand seven sacrificial virgins and a pintof Rhesus Negative a night ! Ivanovic is perfectly all right and perfectly capable of biting him back, putting in a good show so far tonight so that the Blues can sail though in the silly pub cup where the poor little underlingrioters got squished. Knocked two of the Pope's Swiss Guard out of the way so that Moses could part the red and blue sea for the WestLlondon Tinners' opening goal......splendid start ! stevieb
i like lawro he is a sarky chap ,what happens if the player he bit turned around and broke his jaw? what would the ban be for him ? look he is in the wrong yes he has a long ban but he has to take it on the chin and get on with his job which he is well paid for ,nobody asked him to bite the opposition even norman hunter did not actually bite peoples legs he just kicked them up in the air .yes he is a quality player but also the position he is in he needs to grow up very quick and set a better example ,and really do liverpool fans want their best player on or off the pitch ? Nemesis
Suarez bit Ivanovic looking for a reaction in the hope of gaining a penalty, it was a pre-meditated move to cheat and possibly injure another player. Had Ivanovic not swatted the little berk, he may have had a deep wound and possibly rabies. Ten game ban, didn't that fool Rio get 8 months for failing to take a silly little test ? Any scouser daring to defend the action or the short nature of the suspension are as short sighted as the FA, probably more so. I'd hang him, sell tickets at £1,000 a pop, sell out Wembley and we might get Semi-Finals back at Villa, Highbury, Man Ure etc.
Jamo
So you publicly say you would hang him and sell tickrs to watch nemesis? Brilliant, greatcexample and mentality, nearly as brilliant as evra antagonising things by picking up a dismembered fake limb and pretending to bite it, in a week of talking about people setting examples , fails all round
Brianmooreshead
I'm no fan of Evra, but what he did was quite obviously a humorous gesture in front of his own fans ( At the expense of someone in the past who had given him dogs abuse ) I think the reason for 10 games is that Evra is becoming a serial offender. After a four game ban, then an eight game ban, if Suarez is back in front of the FA a year later they don't really have much choice but to keep increasing the length of the ban Where the FA fall down is the inconsistency of disciplinary punishments. To me it often appears as if they make it up as they go along
Goldeneye
Ah good old mark lawrenson! St Darren
Phil Neville dived and saved a ball on the line with his hands, is he a cheat. Lawrenson has always criticised lfc, during a Hillsborough 6 minute applause for the 96, when it finished, he said "now that's over let's get on with the football" he's a ****
Goldeneye
Why do you have to compare everything Darren? We are just talking about this incident! Only you could compare hand ball with biting an opponent! As for Mark Lawrenson he has said many good things about Liverpool and gave King Kenny a lot of support. Don't try and change the facts to support your view!
St Darren
Where have I compared handball to biting? That was in answer to the 'cheat' remark. Deano11
The intent was there to hurt another professional (If indeed we can refer to this idiot Suarez as a professional), this deserves punishment. It is not his first offence, so why should we be lenient on him........ In every other walk of life he would get heavily punished so why not him ? What because he plays for liverpool FC ? Come on get real. IF Liverpool fans defend him then you just make yourself look stupid. He is in the wrong and after racism row last year which turned out he was GUILTY how can you defend him again. He is putting the LFC name through mud. No player is worth that. Get real

somersetspur
What makes me laugh,is how Liverpool and everyone connected with the Club, criticise the length of the ban.
