Wendron 3rds 1 Redruth reserves 1 aet Redruth won 2-0 on penalties

Game played at Helston and very well refereed by Kevin bennetts who didn't have to show any cards or talk to any players .

First half Redruth well on top but could not find that killer instinct in front of goal . A couple of easy headers put over from corners and the young Wendron keeper who was outstanding all night pulling off some good saves .

Second half was quiet for ten minutes then Wendron took the lead with there first real shot of the game . Redruth responded well though made a couple of changes and pushed for the equaliser . It seemed it was going to be one of those nights with the Wendron keeper pulling off some fantastic saves . With only about seven minutes left Guy Johnson fired in a great free kick which the keeper did very well to push against the bar but finally his luck ran out and the ball dropped at the feet of sub John Pascoe to slot home .

The game then went into two ten minute halfs if extra time as light was fading , to be honest both sides looked tired in extra time and not much happened

So the dreaded pens and bearing in mind there keeper had been superb all night I was a little worried . But we asked for five volunteers and eight people put there hand up which is fantastic for a manager . Wendron took the first pen Chris Bolitho saved well then there keeper repeated the same . Chris then mad a fantastic save from there second and to be fair there keeper nearly stop are second penalty but it went in . Chris then saved again from a poorer kick before we scored to go two up with two left each . There fourth penalty taker hit the post to give us a two nil win on pens

Would like to say thanks to Helston for holding the game and the food afterwards , also all credit to Wendron they have some very good youngsters there and a fantastic young keeper . For us it's Gwinear res in the final .
