Sorry, dont know wot happened to my other posts? Bod went 3-2 up through carter, miller equalised on about 116 only for doel to get the winner 2 mins l8r! Gr8 game, gr8 crowd. Well done bodmin but also well done helston, played so long but also well with 10 men. Never seem 2 know when they are beaten.

4-3 Bodmin win in extra time.

Great game! Well worth £4 entrance fee.

Bodmin were simply awful first half, bit better second half but even then they were quite dissappointing. Minimal football played. Long balls all game and quite uninspiring.

Helston played well, battled hard and probably deserved more than they got. Helston very unlucky tonight.

One things for sure though, the Helston fans were vile at times. Yeah they're loud and they're proud but they were also pretty disgusting. Abusing players, abusing officials, chanting about paedophiles, swearing right in the face of players and very over the top. The fella on the speakers had to tell them to shut up and stop their foul and abusive language several times. The hoards of coaches and players in their dugout were no better either.

.....and for this reason I am glad Bodmin won.

thought helston were far the better side tonight and battled for everything! deserved to win the game as they played far better football compared to bodmins route 1 game! helston played most of the second half and extra time with ten men but still played better than bodmin! watched both of the final games and was very dissappointed with them! they didnt have many supporters so had to celbrate with the helston fans after every goal and rubbing it in and gave back as much abuse to the traveling fans as possible. even when they were presented the trophy no one in the crowd seemed bothered they were all more interested to join in with helston celebrations! the fans were fantastic also throughout the night! i can now understand why bodmin dont take promotion as they wouldnt win anything in the league above!

I thought Helston fans were brilliant tonight, shame Bodmin didnt have the same support as Helston tonight. It seems there is a lot of bitter Bodmin fans out there. Even the Bodmin bench, including staff, coaches and manager turned at the end and gave a thumbs up and smile to the 'disgusting' fans. Good game. Well done Bodmin. WE DO WHAT WE WANT xxxx

Congratulations to Bodmin, Helston can be so proud of what weve done tonight. With 10 men for a long time we really took the game to Bodmin! Must say the Bodmin players are a great bunch, have a laugh after and during the game. The referee was an absolute disgrace, and everyone that watched will agree! How can you respect that performance?

Didn't see much wrong with the referees performance tonight. He got all of the big decisions right apart from maybe the incident where Krac threw Eddy on the floor. You were beaten on the night, get over it. Your fans were an absolute disgrace, and everyone that watched will agree! How can you respect that behaviour?

I went and watched the game last nite! Thought it was a well contested game!!and really enjoyable!! Bodmin playing the long ball a lot! But Helston really looked to play!! Shane crac and Liam eddy were far the best players on the park!! I think the red did ok!! What really made the night was the banter from the Helston fans an what looked like abit of banter back from the Bodmin bench end of the day that's what local football is all about!! A reall good atmosphere!! It was really worth the 4 quid!! I must add Helston goalkeeper really unlucky not to score in the dying seconds!! But only to be kept out by an outstanding double save!! From miller!! Which took alot of stick through the game. Think his words were "I wasn't to fat to save those two!!!" Hahaha brilliant game!!!

From this is Cornwall

Bodmin Town's vastly experienced goalkeeper Kevin Miller has hit out at the behaviour of some of Helston Athletic's supporters during Tuesday night's tremendous Cornwall Senior Cup final replay at Truro's Treyew Road.

Miller, who made more than 600 appearances in League football, claimed he was verbally abused and threatened with violence, and also said a section of Helston fans chanted 'Paedophile' at Bodmin manager Darren Gilbert.

There was also a claim that one of the Bodmin substitutes, Lewis Reed, was physically attacked by a Helston supporter during the celebrations of one of Helston's goals.

Miller said: "I imagine some people will go onto the football forums and say it was only harmless banter, but it wasn't. It was nasty.

"Some of the language was appalling, and in this day and age there is no room for this sort of behaviour.

"Gilby (Darren Gilbert) was called a paedophile, among other things, with his wife and kids having to listen to all the abuse.

"And I was verbally abused by a man with a pint in his hand who was standing behind the goal with his young son.

"I asked him to meet me afterwards face to face to say the things he was saying to me, then another Helston supporter came along and said he would see me outside, and his language was appalling too, in front of young children."

A steward was seen to escort one man and a young boy away from behind the goal at the request of other supporters, and the man was ordered by the steward to pour his beer away.

Stewards were kept busy in the second half and during the extra time period of the game, repeatedly having to ask Helston fans to move away from the area behind the Bodmin dugout, while other Helston followers were heard to verbally abuse a linesman after a stoppage in play.

Golden eye be carefull son because you would have to include Miller, what he forgot to mention to the reporter was that he also swore through out the game and was also verbally abusive to spectators including threatening to sort things out with one of them after the game, didn't matter about children and ladys having to listen to that . He had a bad game and should get over hinself but no because he is an ex pro he decided to blame everyone else by bleating to the paper, did the Helston keeper moan about the bad language coming from the Bodmin old boys behind his goal?

People in glass houses.

Kevin Miller bad game take it u didn't watch game? I am neither Bodmin or helston but I wud say helston fans were bang out of order i was stood over the other side of the pitch and cud hear the sick and vile chants clearly!! Also for fans 2 say helston deserved 2 win obviously not u didn't take ur chances meaning u were not good enough to beat Bodmin on the nite end of. Not surprising Sid in paper blaming ref.

I'm sure Miller has heard worse.

Wasn't at the game myself, but I think it is great that players and supporters of local teams in the West have come together to get behind Helston. Players and followers of Helston, Porthleven, Wendron all pulling together. Perhaps some of the chants were not very tasteful, I don't know, but at least they tried creating an atmosphere and made the most of their day out.

Agreed that some language or 'threats' isn't needed, especially when in the company of children, but I am sure that is an extremely small minority, and I bet that most players or coaches get sworn at or threatened on a weekly basis.

Some of the chants heard at Premiership games is disgraceful, so I'm sure that the biggest game in Cornish football, played under the lights between two well followed teams with large catchment areas was always going to be eventful in terms of fan's involvement.

This shouldn't be held against Helston though, as what the coaching staff, players and background staff have achieved there in the past few seasons is really impressive and should be recognised. They have done really well in all competitions and they will be a real asset to the Premier Division next season.

Well done to both sides.

Mockey yes I was there if you had read my thread you would of been able to work that out yourself,Miller was to blame for the second and third goal to slow of his line for the second and let a 30yrd free kick from the touch line in for the third if this is him having a good game well!!! and don't forget Helston were down to ten men for nearly an hour.Sid has a point about the incident involving Krac the ref should of taken some action.

Thank you to Truro last night for your hospitality, only one place to hold the senior cup final and last night proved it!

Helston fans were Brilliant once again, the way half of you lot are going on you'd think they acted like Millwall the other day at Wembley, very vocal and kept us driving on, glad to see that everyone who watched got plenty of entertainment. Proud to be a Blue!

Also Well done to Bodmin, good luck for the rest of the season.

Have Helston been promoted? News to me!

You know as well as I do and we all do, that Helston are in a very good position for promotion and Premier football next year; deservedly so.

Think Youngy has summed it up, good post from a player who actually played yesterday. They were a driving force, much like the old school Falmouth Town boys were in their day.

The referee was very good in my opinion, picked up the nasty ones, and the not so nasty very well.

He either missed the pull down on Eddy or deemed it Ok - his choice - he's the ref. Not you bunch of moaning groaning blame the ref/lino brigade - again.

Helston in my opinion probably shaded the game, but its goals that count and Bodmin got them. Miller in goal did Ok for the main part of the match, but won it with the double save, particularly the second with a strong pair of hands - well done Kevin Miller - MOM for me.

Helston's supporters created a goodish atmosphere with their songs and chanting, but their choice of songs and words showed a lack of respect, and a bigger lack of intelligence. You can see the attitude from them summed up in the banner "we do what we want" well little men - you are going to find out that you can't, some places and people will kick your juvenile asses one day. As for standing behind the goal an directly abusing the keeper - cowards in my world.

Overall, a very good evening, a very good game, a very good crowd, very good catering - I enjoyed it.

All in all the game was an exceptionally good advert for Cornish Football. Played with a great spirit from two managers and two sets of palyers that respected one another.

At times the fans were a bit close the bone in their chants but what an atmosphere they created. I certainly have not seen support like that in any county final I have seen in the last 25 years and without the fans it wouldnt have been the same spectacle. I know people will jump on the bandwagon and say children were present. Well I would say that if any youngster had an interest in football and wanted to play the game at any level. What motivation for them to go out today and put their playstation down and get in the garden and practice a Liam Eddy or Shane Krac finish. We live, as we are constantly reminded in a 'footballing backwater' and those kids seen pride passion and a true underdog story. Whilst the Bodmin faithful will resent the jibes the truth is I felt sorry for the Bodmin lads after. One of the best teams in living memory and next to no support when they celebrated their record senior cup win. Wether that is of a direct result of the team not taking promotion and the fan base loosing interest is a conversation for another day. In regards to Kevin Miller complained to the paper he knows that his comments will get good air time and thats a little dig back for the banter he got and cant bite back too much whilst hes playing. Im sure deep down he couldnt give two hoots and fair play to him as he was the underlining difference between the two teams over both games and dare I say he probably had a bit of a buzz from the stick he was receiving.

As for the officials, I dont really know wether to laugh or cry. But if those on display were the best in the county over the last season then that is more of a concern for the repsectibility and longevity of our game in this neck of the woods as opposed to some overzealous chants. Some of their reasoning was laughable but then I guess its human nature to sway slightly towards the favourites as its something we all witness on match of the day after week when the big 5/6 teams play. But I guess that can easily be construde as sour grapes by me.

But a massive Congratulations go to Gilby and the Bodmin side their achievements have been unbelievable in local football and to continue doing it is the hardest thing in football and they have done just that. And quite touching Doely dedicated his goal to one of his close mates who passed away recently, great tribute from a good lad and top player who definetly got Bodmin going after his introduction.

Finally, just want to say how proud Iam of being involved in a club on the up. It really is a laugh a minute and to come as far as you all have whilst not being paid and doing it for the love of the game and the club shows that you should all go down in the history books. The day will come very soon when Helston are lifting the big prizes in Cornish Football and with the support of the town you really do get the feeling that anything is possible.

On a side note Im running the London Marathon on sunday and with at least 4 KFC's on the route and a Cornish Pasty Company Shop Im sure to finish. so if any one would like to click the link and donate a penny or two I will be most grateful! Currently up to £3600 with a charity golf day on top at the end of the month would really like to raise £10,000 for the Childrens Society a great cause for under privellaged children.

Or, after witnessing last night's awful behaviour, their parents might encourage them to take up another sport!

Lets be honest, all this rubbish about 'Helston Fans', the vast majority will have been to 3 games all season, all against Bodmin. The Semi v Newquay at Truro, Helston had 20 mums, dads and little kids sat high up in the stands and about the same amount dotted about the other side. There were probably 50 or 60 neutrals and the rest were Newquay supporters. No singing or banter from the 40 or so Helston fans that night, but that is because they were the real fans, not idiots who jumped on a coach for a day out and too many beers.

The Helston club average 80 fans at home, there is no way that the club can be held responsible for the glory hunters, who may have spoiled the games for some. However, with Godolphin visiting Helston this Saturday, some of the 'new found' fans may turn out but they would do well not to wind the away bench up,

Godolphin are red hot favourite for the title, Helston can delay it but they cannot in reality prevent the SWPL West staying in the town of Newquay. The question about promotion revolves around planning permissions, if grants and funding were in place by the deadline date and ground gradings, I'm sure that both clubs know how they got on but the SWPL in their wisdom will delay announcing until the AGM. Can you imagine if Cardiffs fans were unable to celebrate promotion the other night, having to wait for the AGM of the FL ?

Anyway, well done Bodmin, another double. Must be boring for the fans, winning all the time, is that why they have so few ?

must say unlucky helston and well done bodmin ,having worked in the helston area for 12 years the club was a bit of a sleeping giant but with sid at at the helm the club has woken up and also the town has got behind them , there is certainly a buzz around the area now ,which is great for football ,as for the chanting /banter i was not there to hear it but there is a lot of things said and done in the heat of the moment /game and with hindsight has not most of us at football done these things and regret it later , i think for cornish football the attendance was fantastic and perhaps ground permitting truro should host the senior cup each year ,sad there has to be a loser but with a bit of time helston should be challaging for the top cornish honours and hopefully more clubs can follow suit including my own hayle

That player was up again a minute later and full of energy. Wasting time possibly? Think maybe you need to take off your Bodmin Glasses. James Miller certainly isn't a Malicious player so I think it was clear to all that he was just helping up the 'Injured' Bodmin player. Well done Bodmin and Congratulations, also well done to the Helston Players that have come on here and also congratulated Bodmin, very decent of you. Maybe people should spend more time praising what a great advert Helston and Bodmin were on the pitch last night rather than the fans and little things off the pitch. The players were all superb.
