Richard Chown
FHFL 2 Caharrack 4 Hayle 0 Carharrack started off the new season in FHFL 2 with a well earned win over Hayle on a hot summers day. It didn't take the home side long to take the lead, when Striker Brenden Dennis header in a cross into the top right hand corner to the delight of the crowd. Both sides fought for possession but it was Carharrack that further extended their lead just before half time when new signing Liam Bray fired a well placed shot past the Hayle goalkeeper just inside the 18 yard box. With all to play for in the second half the visitors seemed to lack firepower up front against a solid Carharrack defence controlled by man of the match Murphy. Dennis continued to pressure Hayle's youngsters and his tactic paid off in the 75th when he his shoot ended up again firmly in the back of his opponents net. Carharrack finally sealed the game and took all 3 points when Bray scored his second off Captain Adam Greenwoods well postioned cross.
