SWPL Results 6/4/13

I agree St Austell well worth the 3 points.

However , why your number 5 Whetter went down like a Millbay whore pretending to have been headbutted by our man Hobbs was a discrace.Mr.Hobbs did not touch him.

Thought your pasties were unbelievably small , yet tasty.

Your pitch was like a Sunday park pitch....awful for this level of football and your abusive vocal support let your club down.

I think that about sums it up.

Keep your heads up Parkway a top 3 placing will show that we have had a good season.

I would say only one (Penzance 19th) as Dartmouth (20th!) pulled out... I would be surprised if the 18th positioned team was considered because in theory they haven't finished in bottom two when the division was set up with 20 teams at the beginning.

Well done to Penzance in fullfilling their fixtures in what has been a torid season... From speaking to people yesterday It's good to hear that next seasons new challenge is being looked forward to already and that the club will keep fighting on.

Carl Rickard "A Class Act"

Agreed. A very good player who does exactly what any good striker should do. Put the ball in the net!

Shame there seems to be a lack of interest in testing himself at a higher level?

When I watched St.Austell - Newquay at the start of the season, I thought the lad looked sharp and was going to prove to be a very good signing! Still not too sure on his reason to head back to St.Dennis?

What an absolute load of rubbish.... The pasties are at least medium! ;-)

Leaner ,you are questioning the judgement of a man who knows his pasties .

In a leaving presentation from one of his past employers , the then manager of The Bald One recounted a story of how he once passed over the smoked salmon at a buffet, and instead demolished seven pasties .

The only reason was because i missed playing with all my mates at St Dennis, i just hope in the next few seasons that the clubs goin to be in a position to push for promotion. I would love to play higher again but i want to do it with St Dennis. We have so much potential...we just need a few more quality players and depth in our squad to do so.

Nobody can win ! With all the topics about lack of loyalty and players following the money to clubs you would have thought people would have congratulated the Rickards for staying at their local club! Not only class on the pitch but all the Rickards put in huge amount of work trying to ensure games get played etc! I can remember them working on the pitch over the Xmas period desperate to get the game on against foxhole!

Looks like they enjoy playing their football with their family and mates and have a good time in the bar after games! Seems a real community club that a lot of other clubs should follow!

Maybe they should be congratulated for getting the club where it is today from the east Cornwall league! Not put down! Just my opinion!

massively agree Hazeldine.

Respect for them for playing for a club they clearly love, with money obviously not the main priority.

Shame not every club is like that but that problem stems from the very top of the professional game.

Think how competitive and interesting our leagues could be if we had more players playing for the love of their club and their teammates respect.

Sorry bushy if I misinterpreted your post !

Wondering why he doesn't want to test himself at a higher level? constantly see Carl and lee having to justify why they are playing for their local team! I'm sure only few weeks ago others were questioning the same thing and they explained the reasons why then!

People in Cornwall can't win! stay local no ambition play higher money grabber! Just look at the posts regarding the Falmouth players ! People seem to use this forum to moan at what ever they can and not say what good is being done !

However I apologise if your post wasn't having a dig .

Bloody hell. Calm down. All I said was that it was a shame he isn't playing to the best level he's capable of. If anything its a complement. I stand by that comment to any player. I have great respect for anyone wanting to test their ability as best as they can. If the lad is happier playing with friends then so be it! Saying something is a 'shame' isn't putting someone down or criticising is it...

I think you're getting mistaken with players moving from team to team in the same league, including the Falmouth players that you speak of. Clearly that is a side step, and isn't an ambitious move. More of a move to get a fatter packet at the end of the week, so obviously there are going to be 1 or 2 unhappy people who will 'moan'. If the Falmouth players had left to play in the Western league, I'm sure everyone would've wished them well.

Yes, you have misinterpreted my post. Apology accepted.

Have to agree, watched the lad Rickard play on Saturday and he was decent, not sure he could have had 10 as someone stated earlier but took his chances well and looked sharp. St Dennis looked overall a useful outfit and should do well again next season and its good to see that most of the team are local lads.
