Bodmin 0, Parkway 3

Parkway seem to have some sort of hold over Bodmin, having also won 3-1 at Priory Park towards the end of last season.

Today, former Bodmin strikers Mark Berry and Ryan Fice returned to score the opening two goals inside 15 minutes, and a real howler from Gary Penhaligon led to the third goal before half-time.

Parkway played deep in the second half, holding on to what they had, and were comfortable winners.

The mix of last season's St Blazey stars and Bodmin's leftovers is not working yet, and Bodmin really have a discipline problem. Huw Morgan was sent off today, and Danny Bance was fortunate to escape a red card after a wild challenge only seconds into the second half.

They are going to run into serious suspension trouble if they are not careful. The constant verbal lashing of officials by the players has to stop, and the example must be set by the manager.

Parkway took a free kick near the halfway line on the left, the ball was kicked high towards the far post, Penhaligon came out to his penalty spot and slipped over, and as he lay on the ground, the ball floated over him and into the corner of the net.

His skipper, Darren Gilbert, must have made him feel a whole lot better by shouting: "That's ****ing embarrassing."

Penhaligon did go some way to making amends late in the second half when he pulled off a great save to deny Parkway a fourth goal.
