Absolute joke every player from each team turns up and the ref (Wayne gunn) doesn't even contact either club to say he isn't coming! The F.A are quick enough these days to fine clubs, how about they fine this ref if he is in the wrong! But if it comes out that he got called away by the F.A to ref another game or something and it isn't his fault what the **** are the F.A up to not letting any of us know! because its a saturday afternoon wasted where some people could of worked or spent time with there family etc all because he or the F.A couldnt be to let any 1 knw!!!! JOKE!!

He may have a genuine reason for his no show. doubt he would just decide not to turn up.

You are playing in Division 4 of the Trelawney league, and everyone knows there will be a backlog on fixtures because of the weather!

Both teams at the pitch

Both teams wanting to play

Both teams having players that could of worked/spent time with their families.

Both teams without an ounce of commonsense, as you could have appointed a ref for the game and played, both teams happy league secretary happy end of

Wendron Thru & Thru you have a distinct lack of respect towards other forum users, and maybe Mr Thorne should consider whether he actually needs someone like you to disgrace Wendron with posts like the one above.

Keep it up and you will end up without a ref every week, but at least you will know where you stand and can go shopping every Saturday

What people on this forum don't understand, is that if a referee fails to fulfil an appointment the CCFA opens an investigation. Should the referee not have a reason that satisfies the investigation requirements, then disciplinary action will be taken. The outcome could therefore be that the referee is removed from refereeing all together.

One other thing to point out - refereeing is a community whereby people stick together, so stupid comments from Bigbadbarry and especially Wendron thru & thru could result in other referees not wanting to referee their respective teams.

Be aware guys, that comments that you make on this forum have consequences that can very quickly back fire one you....!!!!!

To be fair Cornish ref don't think wendron thru thru is saying anything untoward on a personal basis and is making a point of saying if he could not turn up because of FA etc. for me personally its a phone call, if they have no ref I do think its poor that around 30 unhappy lads managers etc have had there day ruined, plus earache for half of them in the evening when girlfriends wives boyfriends:) all to there own find out they haven't played. All the same it would help now if someone knew the reason by now as to why and posted it I presume they still don't .

Appreciate the investigation bit, but still a shame no one made a call . Be interesting to know whether the secretary of the home club even spoke to the ref or just a message was left????

WOULDNT CALL IT A STUPID COMMENT CORNISH-REF JUST ABIT OF BANTER YOU REFS TAKE IT SO PERSONAL WEN ANYBODY COMES ON HERE AND SAYS ANYTHING UNTOWARD ABOUT YOU ALL :drink:
It’s the way that it is done....... Referees are not perfect and make mistakes, but there is a shortage of them. Comments like this may result in some referee's quitting which doesn't benefit anyone. Also, for extra info - the CCFA monitor this site, so comments made by posters can result in action being taken.

I try and be constructive and informative in my comments not biased and argumentative...

Why is it that as soon as a person puts on the black and white kit they become so precious. Do they never get criticism in their other lives. Surely everyone receives criticism, both warrnated and unwarranted, but do they threaten to leave their place of work or the families?? I cannot remember one referee receiving all the criticism so why do they/you all get so affronted?

le boss, as a referee all i get is criticism and lots of abuse it never stops, I have had bricks put under the wheels of my car, loads of abuse when leaving the pitch (fouls and abusive) I have been confronted in the club house after the game, I have been called everything I can think of also in my time threatened with violence and poor Wayne fails to show up (he probably has a valid reason) and all hell breaks loose.

I do not condone any of that treatment - my point, albeit perhaps badly made, was that as soon as criticism is aimed, there is the threat of resignation etc

He failed to show up in Mullion today, had to wait half an hour to get the game underway when eventually the Mullion manager kindly stepped in and did a fantastic job

Dead cert what are you talking about. we did appoint a ref 'Wayne' and I am led to believe that constantine spoke and confirmed it with him during the week! Maybe I shouldn't have worded it like I did last week but if was straight after the incident and was still a bit annoyed by it all! I aint trying to off any referees and any1 that knows we know I always show refs respect! I understand there is a shortage and I think alot of refs get unfair criticism which isnt fair on them, but all I was asking for was a txt or a phone call last week so we all didnt waste our time! Which I think is quite fair enough!

Would suggest that if anybody has an issue regarding a ref they should take it up with Paul Murphy the ref appointer who's a very nice bloke and I'm sure will do his best to rectify or investigate any situations.....as clubs that's what part of our CCFA Affiliation is paying for :)......venting on here achieves the square root of bugger all!!

Wendron thru & thru, not sure how you can refer to me as you did? Take another look at your posting, and ask yourself why? Was I such to come on the forum and post when I was so wound up about what happened that afternoon? All week you have had the chance to make a post apologizing to the ref involved but chose not to!

Also just to look a bigger fool Wendron beat Mullion to-day and the young ref was very good(your post on results) was he good because he turned up, or the fact you won a game, or maybe he was genuinely very good, but it just might be that you posted right after winning the game and tomorrow the ref might be useless!

Lesson is, think before you post especially when it is directed at a person/club directly Dyl

Um I havent been on here dead cert because I have other things going on in my life at the mo and for your information I said the ref had a good game not because we won or because he turned up (which does help) I said it because he generally had a good game! Like I also said in my previous post I dont like to slate refs and hardly ever have done in all my years in football! Plus I stand by what I said I do believe we deserved a phone call or txt 2 say he wasnt coming and if u dont like that u know what you can do mate!!

Maybe the ref has had enough of all the abuse he has received from a satday afternoon. I know i cnt speak much as im just as bad for opening my mouth. But i was watching the football league show today and a couple of sending offs resulted in the offenders acting very aggressivly to the lino. And thats at a pro level. refs just not turning up might just become a regular thing if attitudes dnt change.

Deano 11 sorry to disappoint you, that i have not logged off just yet, but maybe you should remember your good ol days at Albion espeacialy Sunday league games at Penzance area bet you wish that ref did,nt turn up?

Would that be the game that he received 2 yellow cards , got sent off & then got caught out for cheating by giving the ref someone else's name! lol!

Clubman and dead cert I do not know where you are getting your information from, but after having the pleasure of playing alongside deano11 for many seasons now I can assure you the bloke is as honest as the day is long and these wild allegations you are accusing him of are so wide of the mark its untrue! Now I dont know what you are trying to achieve here by ruining the reputation of one of the finest gentlemen to play Cornish football, but I really suggest it ends here right now!!!
