Gee
St Buryan 2 - 3 Illogan (1-1 HT) (Adam Callaway , Gareth Pitt and Alan Buckley) 1st Half Felt we (Illogan) started well against the wind which seems to be the better way to go at St Buryan and we scored a good goal after a decent amount or pressure on the right hand side, a good ball by Ryan Treloar was eventually put in the net by Adam Callaway. St Buryan kept going and were awarded a penalty (that quite simply was NOT a penalty). It was one of the best tackles I have seen this year and yes he hammered the player but AFTER he had taken the ball, i think St Buryan would admit that as well. 2nd Half Again wind seems to have a big impact and its easier to play against rather than with because its so strong at St Buryan. The game was very scrappy 2nd half with no flowing football but the key moment was a sending off when our player was sent off for kicking a St Buryan player it was a reaction to him being kicked first but the ref didn't see that so no complaints as Alan Pearce (the ref) was left no choice as it was done right in front of him. 5 mins later a decent break down our right ended with a good ball across the box which St Buryan finished and only 10 mins remained, 2-1!! But here is the difference between a good Premier side and Illogan, we were 2-1 down and had only 10 men but we kept going, 2 mins later we had a corner which Gareth Pitt (Me) tucked away with a close ranger header. It looked like going to extra time but again we had more pressure with another corner and again I managed to bundle a header over the line which Alan Buckley made sure of but we all know it was in before then!!! Great win, great night out and lets hope its 3rd time lucky!!! Very surprised to hear Helston lose but that will only make us take Lizard more seriously!! Plus my mate Knight who manages St Austell in the east half won their quarter final so the dream final is still on!!!!

We got exactly what we deserved and could not handle the in-your-face style that Lizard adopted. Should have had a penalty at 1-0 but in all honesty it would have fllattered us. Too many just along for the ride at the moment and we have become a soft touch. Their keeper had nothing to do untilthe 86th minute - says it all. Anyway good luck to both Illogan and Lizard in an interestng area final.
Gee
who was sent off ? Dave Thomas (Denver) just a moment of madness from him. Wasn't a dirty game by any means but there were some big tackles going in which every player just got on with.

Promoted last year and doing very well this season that's what I call a move in the right direction . Best of luck to illogan hope they do it this year . Nice one Ha ha yeah but to be honest the 3rd was Alan's goal, I did the write up when I got back in the evening after our nights festivities, it took me ages typing while drunk and I wouldn't recommend it, had to proof read it in the morning with a thick head, luckily didn't devote my undying love to Marksy or Le Boss while doing it, phew! Phil
Congratulations to Nick, Mark and the players at Illogan for once again getting to the west area final. My view, like most on here is that you will be in the easter monday final and i hope you can lift the cup for the west of Cornwall and your club. Also well done to Lizard Argyle. To get to the area final is a great achievement and a special evening to be involved with, i expect they will raise there game and be well up for causing an upset on the night. We played them a couple of years ago in the junior cup, and although they were beaten on the day, they had some good attacking players, and if they've built on that side could have a chance. Good luck to both sides.
