Granty
Falmouth Athletic 2 - 1 Hayle A repeat of last week really Athletic were the better team first half taking the lead from the penelty spot after some great footwork from Jordan Dingle drew the foul. Calmly slotted away by Mark (Minto) Kent. Athletic created more chances but couldnt capitalise on some fantastic work on the left from Will Tinsley. Hayle were very busy and played some great football at times without really troubling the Athletic goal. 2nd half more of the same and athletic made it 2 nil after a quick short corner was finished off at the back post by Brett Southered(never can spell his surname right). Athletic had the ball in the net twice more but were ruled out for offside.... Hayle kept battling away and got a life line after a fantastic run from the right winger who kept going and going then carmly slotted into the corner of the net. last 10mins were tense but no real chances from either side. Overal i felt we did enough without being convincing. Good luck to Steve and his boys for the rest of the season - next week Newquay in another bottom of the table dog fight. MJP
Cjm, Wendron had spoken to the ref in the morning and told him that the pitch looked ok in the majority of places but was pretty soft in one area! The ref decided that as it was a fine, windy day that he wanted to take the chance and inspect the pitch when he got there. Nothing to do with Wendron, who wanted to get the game played as much as anyone. If you are so concerned about spending money why don't you go and play for a club nearer to Bodmin? The ref told us that he would be concerned for the safety of the players, so if you feel that he is wrong for thinking of your welfare, take it up with the CCFA! Kash
<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="cornishteddyboy" data-cid="229553" data-time="1359883997">
Anyone know who scored for Hayle at Fal Athletic yesterday?

Lewis Griffin, he was making his debut in mens football aswell, really well taken goal! Thawt like lastweek we had some key desicions not given again which cost us, think some of the young upcoming refs should be given a chance at this level instead of the dinosaurs who think they know best! Pitty
Holmans 2-3 St Just Att 20 ish Another week another major disappointment in the 3 points department. I got to sit this one out from the world famous Holmans dugout (see link) http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=dugouts+book&hl=en&client=safari&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.&bvm=bv.41867550,d.d2k&biw=768&bih=900&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=16134142469493799799&sa=X&ei=xV8OUdvkEsrK0QXTwYEY&ved=0CFAQ8gIwAA Old man lavis but whos not as old as me took my place in the back alongside bobby big nose and to be fair to him he had a good solid game but I'm going to do a false 999 call next Saturday lunchtime so he gets called away and I get my place back. St just turned up in the 'happy bus' sporting rubber rings and dodgy hats and even though some teams have disagreements with them they are always the most social team to visit blaythorne every year and we had a good laugh on and off the pitch. The pitch was as smooth as the face of a 14 year old with acute acne but alas someone's nicked the battery out the tractor again so we didn't manage to roll it. Things were pretty steady for the firs 20min until a free kick from Neil curnow looped over and stu Nichols stuck his leg out like inspector gadget sending the visitors 1 up. Luckily Holmans responded str8 away when Selley took a quick puff on his inhaler sprinted on to a great cross from the impressive Phil Greenlaw to equal things up. Holmans then did something very unusual and took the lead which I think was an own goal but Selley claimed it to take us 2-1 up Ht 2-1 Usual wise words at half time of keep it tight don't concede early etc etc.....all fell on deaf ears within 2 min another Neil curnow free kick for some mysterious reason made the Holmans wall jump up in the air I reckon Neil must have shouted "boo" and scared them. Justin wood ran through to get on the end of it and score the equaliser. 5 min later patch was taking an early (cold....boilers failed again!!!) shower. Aaron was a little late on a challenge which he was sent to the naughty step for but patch decided to recreate his great idol Ray Wilkins finest moment at the World Cup in Mexico in 86 and threw the ball at Aaron's head which is quite a mean feat as Aaron is rubbish at heading the ball. Str8 red for patch and so for the 2nd time this season we faced a team with 10 men.....and promptly lost!!!! Neil with another set piece found the head of Toby and we should have dealt with it better 2-3.....I got on for the last 15 and had a cuddle with Andrew curnow but sadly Jase had a shot he should of buried but sent it hurtling to the 4:20 train heading to Penzance Final score an annoying 2-3 ......rubbish :-(
isaac rosenberg
Sorry not to have been home for a trip to Blaythone this year and good luck to Holmans for the rest of the season....too good to go down ! Thanks for kind words about Tinners, Pitty. It's only the Daily Mail readers and the establishment hyenas who hate the Real Cornish from the People's Republic of St Just.....the most sociable team in Cornwall ! God wears a green shirt !
