Help Camelford Football Club Secure A Future with £100,000 Cash Injection

-Football fans asked to vote for local club by Budweiser and The FA-

28/01/2013 – Football life has already changed for Camelford Football Club following the announcement in December that the club successfully secured £50,000 worth of funding from the Budweiser Club Futures programme.

Now the club is on course for a huge season bonus as they go head to head with seven others in a bid to win an additional £100,000.

It is now up to football fans throughout the UK to decide which club is to receive a massive £100,000 Super Grant top up from the programme, which is backed by FA Cup sponsors Budweiser and The FA. From 28^th January until 28^th February, 2013 fans can view the clubs’ videos and cast their votes on facebook.com/budweiseruk and facebook.com/thefacup*

The £50,000 grant already secured will help Camelford Football Club fund a project that will help support the club’s ambition to make it more self sufficient by installing ground based solar panels which will generate a guaranteed income over at least 20 years.

Launched in August 2012, Budweiser Club Futures is investing £1million directly into grassroots football in the UK during the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons as part of Budweiser’s FA Cup sponsorship. The programme shines a light on grassroots football and help clubs to help themselves, making each team more sustainable within the community.

Mark Tapley Chairman at Camelford Football Club said: “Winning this grant is already a massive boost for our club, but winning an additional £100k would mean so much more. We would love to build our own clubhouse as we are the only club in our league without one. This would create a more welcoming experience to visitors while providing facilities to raise funds to support the running of our club. We would hope to make this available to the local community and already have interest from local youth groups.

The grant would also enable us to improve our facilities and maintain our growth, in particular the development of our youth teams".

“As we are the only representatives from the South West we are calling on all of Cornwall and indeed the South West, whether a football supporter or not, to vote for Camelford F.C. and bring this investment to Cornwall”.

"All the clubs fundraising is currently done with the aid of the local community but in these economic times this is becoming increasingly difficult.

Such projects seem a long way off but winning the Super Grant could turn our dreams into reality".
