AJW
Having had a conversation with Cornwall FA today, I can confirm that Godolphin Atlantic has been removed from the Junior Cup and Grampound has been reinstated in their place. Godolphin won our Divisional Quarter Final match on penalties the Saturday before last but presumably played an ineligible player. I am sure that this was a simple mistake and it is not the way we would have liked to have gone through but we look forward to the tie at home to Bude Town nonetheless. Hat Trick
Just want to say that all of us lads were absolutely gutted when we heard the news that we had been withdrawn from the cup due to a mistake like this. The manager and players had worked so hard to get us where we did and to have it taken away like that is a bitter pill to swallow, but if an error has been made somewhere along the lines we have no choice but to take it on the chin and move on. There's still the league and the knock-out cup for us to prove what a good team we are. The senior players in the squad will now pick up the younger lads in time for saturdays game and we'll go from there. I know a few of the Grampound players and manager so I'd like to wish them all the best in the semis against Bude and that they go on to win it. Cheers and Gone
AJW
Thanks for the thought, Hat Trick. Our game was close, to say the least, as they have always been in recent seasons and Grampound were gutted with the way penalties went for us so I can guess how you are feeling now. Can I wish you all the best in the Knockout Cup - but not too much in the league as we are doing our best to go up too!
Premier Sixes
Ben I heard the news. I feel for you fella. The Super White Army, however, will be looking to knock you out in Round 2 of the Duchy Cup if you get past Boscastle. hahahaha See you Sunday.
