RobinVanParkway
VIC EASTERBROOK 1955 – 2013 Plymouth Parkway Football Club is very sad to announce the death of Vic Easterbrook who sadly passed away on Monday, 21st January 2013 at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. Vic was a Life Vice President of Plymouth Parkway Football Club, but he was much more than that to local football in the Plymouth area and to Plymouth Parkway. For those that new Vic, he had become a real character of the game in Plymouth and was always willing to comment on local football. Vic also played the game in his earlier days, starting out as an outfield player for clubs in the St.Budeaux area and also later he played in goal. He was taken on board by Falstaff Wanderers in the local league and became their physio and trainer; the club had a lot of success at local level. Vic then joined the newly named Plymouth Parkway in 1993 and has been connected with the club for the last 20 years. Over those years he undertook a number of roles. Physio, catering, barman and any other help he could give, including handling a pneumatic drill at the old Parkway ground digging out the sides. In the years of the Devon League and the South Western League he was very supportive of the Manager, Gez Baggott, becoming his right hand man on numerous occasions. Over the last 12 months Vic was unable to do as much as he wanted but was still vocal in his support for the club. When Vic was about, the football scene was filled with laughter and jokes. He will be much missed by the club, players and supporters. More importantly he will be sadly missed by his family. Our thoughts go out to his wife Jan and all of his family, at this moment in time. Rest in peace Vic.
