Rickie Holt
Despite reading yesterday that St Blazey are due to host Bodmin in the SWPL tonight, I read in the paper this morning that two of the St Blazey players are actually playing at Elburton Villa tonight for Bideford in the Devon St Luke's Cup. I found the article online which is linked below. Does anybody have any further information on this regarding the situation as it seems a strange one. I'm very surprised the players see a fixture against Bodmin on home soil as missable. http://www.thisisnorthdevon.co.uk/Bideford-bring-St-Blazey-s-George-Swain-Lewis/story-17862361-detail/story.html
SteveM
Only just read this post. They both played for St Blazey on Tuesday night. I imagine that they were pencilled in to feature in the Bideford sid but cancelled when the match against Bodmin was rearranged.
Zac
Think you are right SteveM. I was at Blaise Park on Tuesday. They both impressed against a strong Bodmin team, you can see why the 'bigger' teams are looking at them. Also sounds like they missed a good game being 4-3. Rickie Holt
@Zac it was a great game, thoroughly entertaining. Villa being 3-1 up and losing 4-3. It was probably more of a sense of relief for Bideford rather than excitement. I've seen Elburton play 5/6 times this season and this was one of the better games I've attended. Bideford might have done better with the two St Blazey players as a couple of their own didn't look too impressive. Does anybody know the draw for the next round?
