dave the rave
It looks like the only way we are going to see clubs avoid playing on way into May this season is to start utilising and maximising clubs floodlights by playing midweek in Febuary and March. Otherwise whats the point in having them if you rarely ever get to switch them on.
BIG AL
Agree - evening fixtures seem to attract a better gate. There is non reason that I can see why the league cannot slot in some floodlit games for clubs say within a 40 mile radius of each other.
Nemesis
I agree that floodlights are essential at Step 6 and the SWPL are scheduling midweek fixtures for games that have been called off. Newquay now have 3 midweek trips into Devon, Saltash Utd and a nice one at St Blazey to look forward to. So that is 5 games, all away midweek, I don't see a problem that the above two posters have alluded to. Any game around 50 miles is OK, a max of 1.5hrs drive, so if fans can leave home/work at 6pm, they will make it. Slightly more problematic for some players I should imagine, but they have sufficient time to request an hour off work to make the games.
