Just checked our pitch at St Newlyn East AFC this morning. Lots of grass back on it now after the hammering it took against Bodmin looking good. However, water surrounds your boot when you step on it. It's completely sodden. Will check in the morning and providing it has no standing water should be on. Depends if the forecast for 8hrs heavy rain is right!

It is likely that the referee will postpone the match if that is the case with water surrounding the boot. I would forsure... sorry....

Our pitch does drain quite well normally. But since the Bodmin game it's remained waterlogged or borderline. Our second team called our home game off last week on the Friday. However, the away team formally complained to the league that we called it off on Friday. What was funny was that our first team was due to play the away teams first team at their pitch but their first team called the game off on Friday as well! Wonder if they put a formal complaint in against their own club? lol!

Anyway in the hope that we can get the game going and not recieve any complaints I'll check again in the morning first thing. It's just started to rain now aaaargh! But you're right I think if a ref looked at it now it would be off. I don't think you would finish the game?

Duchy 2

Lostwithiel v Padstow is off!

Just heard from our secretary that the pitch has not recovered from the serious flooding back in December.

anyone fancy a friendly at our place tomorrow?

Cheers

Why can't you reverse the fixture if your pitch is playable?

We've already played Padstow away this season so can't reverse the fixture. Mind you I'd rather play at Padstow again rather than our shocking pitch! The deluge of flood water has taken its toll and also the moles! Haven't played a game since 8th December and we have no fixture next weekend! Next game is 26th Jan at Queens Rangers....that's what you call a winter break!! :(

Myself, I'd rather play the game away rather than wait till April and have to play an evening game where everyone is arriving last minute, if at all!

I see my side are not fixtued a game for the next three weeks. after missing most of December through waterlogged pitches. Its now we need to see the skills of the fixture secretary and the club's secretary's to shuffle things around to get as many games played as possible. Not easy i know, but something my old pal George Osborne was a master of.

Well rains been in hard and fast then settled to a constant drizzle last few hours looking verry bleak for many pitches who will survive this week to get another game under there belts with some teams now not played in over 5 weeks ? And with rain expected into the middle of the week some games might not even make next week either and seen some teams have already been hit hard with a back log of fixtures come april some teams playing a good 10 games in space of a month :O

That has been carried on in the Trelawny League by Gerald Sobey who,as you know, does an excellent job Phil.He will want games played as much as anyone.

Big Bird, you may have been a bit premature with no ref, lots of games being called off, mine included so plenty of referee`s available.

No ref and waterlogged that's why the game is off
