The outrageous attempt of Penzance FC, via the press, to filch players from other local clubs to avoid relegation for both their senior and junior teams is characteristic and beyond contempt. If facing them in late-season matches, check their teamsheets really carefully. The gutless CCFA will do nothing about their breaking of the rules on approach because their political representation within the infrastructure is too strong.

Disgraceful ! :c:

When this club had money, it treated the rules of approach with contempt and the football public of Penwith with even less. Now that its mercenary and imperial ambitions of their council quagmire are a sporting equivalent of Shelley's "Ozymandias" they use their connections in CCFA and the media to circumvent them.

Shame about the deducted points. Surely nobody would be small-minded enough to query player registrtions alleging that someone had been born two hours too late, would they ? Can't imagine whom !

Nice to hear from "Kash". What an apocryphal name.

surely a team struggling for a players who has the chance to advertise for players through any means is not a bad thing i was gona put up a poster in the pub asking if any1 wanted to play footy as at 1 point my team had a shit squad but then i was able to get sum good signings and if i thought it wud get me a good team id pay to av my team advertised in west brition is sounds like isaac u r jelous of penzance and r trying to make out they r doing this crime against cornish footy. at the end of it all every team wants to win and wants the best squad they can pos get. what Kash is saying is leave teams that have fallen from grace alone and let em re build up to there former glory i am not looking to fall out with u just my opinion......

For someone who has such a vocabulary I think you'll find that Kash is my nickname not anything to do with monetary value! I have no ties to Penzance and just think that someone as bitter as yourself needs to get some anger management and let clubs do what they like, i'm sure lots of teams don't stick to the rules when it comes to approaching players!

Think some of you are missing the point - no one has a problem with anyone advertising for players but the issue is that ctb was asking if anyone was fed up sitting on the bench etc which implies thay are signed for a team already - and that may/may not constitute an approach - hence John Mead of Penzance denouncing any attachment to the post. If there are lads not attached to any club then fair play - perhaps ctb's plea was very badly worded.

Thats a very good way of putting it, better than being angry and bitter ; )

Far from angrily or bitterly, I merely call attention to hypocrisy, inconsistency and the usual bias of the craven "Cornishman" as the Penwith hinterland welcomes the collapse of the Reich like a political liberation. John Mead knows the rules well, so the comments from le boss are sapient. Cbfc, I have to query your use of the term "state of grace" in relation to Thieving Magpie history, (unless the moral foundations of Western Christianity have in fact been inverted). No offence intended or taken: I too never want to fall out with anybody !

Kash, I'm sure what you say about approaches is true of much of junior football, where so many teamsheets could have been works of fiction by Jeffrey Archer. I don't think your well-meaning comments quite embrace the reality that football administration is in truth about as simple as international politics and that a skilled club secretary combined with friends in CCFA can be worth about ten points a year !

Your sartorial eloquence knows no bounds and a pleasure to read but your incisive, sardonic comments may be a little lost on some of the fellow members.
