Any Postponements of Games yet for this Saturday... 05/01/2013

I would think so too Neil, but with all the rain we did have over the last few weeks, who knows what state some of the Unfortunate clubs that were hit with it the worst mate pitches are like. Would be good to see some local football played this weekend :)

How's Frogpool's pitch looking lad?

I haven't seen it for a while but we were meant to train last night and didn't if that's anything to go by.

I know clubs want to protect pitches but maybe it's time to bite the bullet and play games even if its soft underfoot. The problems over the last few weeks has been surface water and the adding to it during a match when it has continued to chuck it down but with (thankfully) the absence of rain over the last few days hopefully that surface water has now all dispersed at most grounds.

As much as I hate seeing our pitch trashed and looking soggy brown rather then lush green if we continue to cancel games due to it being just soft underfoot with no water the season will be a car crash with games coming thick and fast when the clocks go back. I know in most cases that clubs have taken the decision to cancel fixtures themselves in the last few weeks as its been pretty obvious that a game cannot go ahead, maybe if its touch and go its time to hand the decision back to the referee who can make a neutral decision on the playability of the surface at the time of the match rather then trying to keep it pristine through January.

Just on a bit of stand by in Truro and can give a quick Malpas update for those interested...

The nets are up, the pitches are marked. There is no standing water, the ground is soft but not saturated. The pitches look good in fairness!! There's a nice breeze with no rain forecast so are only going to dry more.

These games will be on...

Hi Patch,

How is Mawnans pitch looking like for tomorrows game?? Mawnan Res v St Day III, the manger is asking that's all.

I would take a risk and say a lot of games will be ON tomorrow, pitches have dried out a lot in the last few days and with matches not being played on them they all should be looking fairly good. Pitches will be soft though so take your studs boys.

Good luck to everyone playing tomorrow.

Regards

Mark

Bad pitch?? Are they ever good? Clijah playable Thursday eve apparently, been reasonable weather since and forecast good ths weekend. By bad pitch i assume they mean muddy?? Going back to a post i put in a few days ago, games need to be played. I know its a council decision but seems weird. On another note, carharack 1st team away from home tomorow. Is carharacks pitch still under water?? Muddy i expect?? Im slightly frustrated. sounds like malpas ok and thats usually pretty wet to say the least. im sure there be a handful of games off but lets get out and cut a pitch up and get stuck in and enjoy a beer after. I may go and watch our first team tomorow after a stroll around clijah and carharack
