Duchy League Results - 24th November

Recommended Posts

The downpour that lasted throughout the day decimated the Duchy programme, but a few hearty souls somehow managed to get a game played.

Premier Sixes were able to play their Division Two fixture with Foxhole on the 3G pitch at Tretherras School. They were much on top in the first half racing into a three-goal lead before Jamie Robinson pulled one back for the visitors. Sixes were not affected by this setback and stretched the lead to 4-1 by the break with Josh Mitchell scoring a brace and Martyn Probert and Joe Harvey getting a goal apiece. Foxhole came out for the second half a completely different side and dominated the game. Sixes did hit a post, which would have put the result out of reach, but Foxhole went right up the other end and pulled back a second goal from Matt Ravenscroft. The visitor laid siege to the home goal with Sixes camped in front of their goal, but they defended stoutly to preserve the advantage their first half play had given them.

St.Merryn put a lot of work into their pitch during the week and were rewarded by completing a 7-3 win in Division Five over St.Mawgan reserves, which takes them up to a season’s best fifth place as a result. Kevin Allen hit a hat trick with Mike Shearer adding a brace for the home side. Their scoring was completed by Chris Allen and Ashley Rescorla with St.Mawgan hitting back with a Darren Allum goal and a Luke Haynes brace.

Fair report, after concededing 4 goals so quickly you would have expected Foxhole to admit defeat, they didnt and worked hard getting their two goals. In fairness we should have had more but a) couldn't put them away B) the keeper was flukey at times :-)

After a talking to by the manager at half time Foxhole did come out in the 2nd half and play much better, passing and moving well. Foxhole were without 4 starting players today but the lads that stepped in played well.

Good luck to P6's for the rest of the season.

It was 4-2 and just starting getting back into game.

The lino decided not to see a clear handball, 5 yards in front of him, although he was laughing about it to the players.

The ref couldn't see it as he was blind side and not up with play. A St Mawgan player then got himself sent off for calling the lino a cheat.

10 mins later a st Merryn player did the same to the st mawgan lino. No card.

St Merryn deserved the points but if the ref had seen the handball it might have given st mawgan a chance to get back in the game.

That's horsepoop.

He didn't give it because he didn't want to give his team a disadvantage. He claimed he didn't see it. Despite having the best view on the pitch.

It doesn't really matter, its just a shame we had a man sent off because of it and now banned. Thanks to the St Merryn player who tried to talk the ref out of sending him off.

St Merryn were more than equipped of easily winning and deserved the result its just a shame their manager influenced the scoreline.

I only ran the line for five minutes.

My eyesight isn't what it should be.

But thought it was only fair to even things up as your Lino had been cheating for ninty minutes.

As for Ashley, he approached me, and asked me to put 7 days in for him.

He is fed up with you moaning and arguing.

So get your facts correct, St Merryn boy or no St Merryn boy as you call it, Ashley approached me.
