Trelawny League results for Saturday November 17th, 2012

Recommended Posts

There was 2 defender's, 2 midfielders and mike up front missing, I think there was more but I can't remember of the top of my head. I been working for the last few weeks so a forced lay off but will be back fresh after my rest to hopefully shore things up at the back! Change of stripes for you Ben!!

Struggling for players, happens to the best of us! Ineligible players eh, is that the reason for your 6 point deduction? Gutted for you that rules are being enforced this season )

Ouch, that's the middle of the team cut out right there! Big credit to your lads, they never once moaned or complained about anything all afternoon, just stuck together and continued to play football right till the final whistle.

Aye mate, still the same under the shirt though.. lanky sod who sounds like Pendeen Fog Horn!

division 4

Marazion 1 Hayle 4ths 2

Hayle stole the points against a much improved marazion.

could have been 2 down at ht but for some great defending

by the hayle backline. strong tackling from both sides was well

marshalled by ref paul nimms. 0.0ht

second half was much the same mostly scrappy with flashes

of good football. marazion took the lead when the ball fell to

thier player on the edge of the box who scored with a great

shot in the top right corner. this woke Hayle up and they upped

thier game which brought the equaliser from tommo;s long range

deflected shot. hayle changed formation in search of a winner,

which duly came when ryan turner beat his marker to score in

the top corner. marazion had a man sent off for another ungentle

tackle on young jack whitcombe. hayle saw the game out but knew

when the whistle blew that they had won a damn hard game. well

reffed by nimms and must say how honest marazion lino was.

best wishes to marazion for the season.

hayle man of match charlie shears 16year old centreback.

Rules are rules and a genuine mistake was made and we have taken our punishment that was given to us, just got to get on with it now and make up lost ground. Hopefully with the lads missing coming back joining the boys who played Saturday, we can climb back up the table and push on for another promotion

Div 2

Storm 4 - 5 Culdrose Res

Considering we had 7 players missing from last week (most covering the firsts who were short) a good result for the airman. Turned up with the bare 11 with another turning up 30 mins into the game, however we stiil managed a 2.0 lead after 10mins. Storm had a good last 20 mins of the 1st half and got a goal back and were unlucky not to go in level. 2nd half was a strange half, every time we got a goal Storm would hit straight back with a goal themselves to keep it interesting up until the final whistle. 3rd time we have played Storm this season, good bunch of lads and wish them well for the rest of the season.

Division 3.

Gulval Reserves 3 v 5 Redruth United Reserves

Well it's definitely getting better boys. Although we lost (again) the boys are starting to show a togetherness and spirit, which when is added to the undoubted quality we have in the side, indicates it is only a matter of time until we start picking up points again. Today we played a very experienced and well organised Redruth side who were good for the 3 points. Within about 15 mins Gulval found ourselves 0-3 down after a very bright start by 'druth which found us still in the changing rooms. However Gulval finally started to pass the ball around and a good break involving Adam and Tanz which ended in Eyeball Pete drilling it home from about 2 yards after the keeper had fumbled a cross, made it 1-3. Stoner's ridiculous torpedo throw ins were a constant threat throughout the game and paid off on about 30 mins when he launched it into the danger area and the ball ended up in the net by an unlucky Redruth player, 2-3. Gulval were certainly in the driving seat for 10-15 mins and Redruth seemed a little shaken by this. However 'druth extended their lead by 2 more goals in the last 10 mins of the first half, 2-5. Second half Gulval were positive and tried to play some decent football, but we also had a determination not to concede again and this rang true as we ended up winning the 2nd half 1-0  after a great lobbed finish from Dan Hopkins. All round Gulval can take a lot from this game against the team at the top of the league and hopefully take this on into our next games.

Good luck to Redruth, it was a good fair and physical challenge today which i think both teams enjoyed.

good report mate but you do forget that we made 3 changes taking off 3 of our better players and although the players who came on are just as good we did not play as well as the first half. I as well as the manager am disappointed at our second half display and if we are to win the league we must not take our foot off the pedal in games although we fought well we did not play as we did in the first half shooting when we should be passing and passing when we should be shooting. Remember boys to play as we did in the first 15mins all the way through a game and don't take the foot off the pedal Darren was exactly right in the changing rooms if we are to win against the top sides we have to give it 100% for the full 90 mins take it from me I know what it takes to win leagues!! See you Saturday boys and good luck to gulval you will win many games as you do have quality all around the park and a great throw in specialist scary crosses well done gulval.

ST JUST 1 V 0 TREVENSON

1st three points of the season for st just great all round performance. Did have the luxury of are 1st team not having a game so reinstated 2 players. One being Neil Curnow. Saying that tho trevenson had chances and could of easily got a point out of the game.

Wouldnt normally reinstate players but been on the receiving end of it lots of times from other clubs. All the best to trevenson for the rest of the season really enjoyed todays game

was a good battle as playing down st just always is well done on your win mr Curnow was class as he always is.thought Stuart nicholls up top for u played superb aswell although on the team sheet on the forum he was listed as Sam nicholls and the other reinstated player played a good game aswell think it was Grenfell hopefully next time we meet they are unavailable lol as they apparently all played first team the previous week and maybe would off again if they had a fixture good luck for rest of season hopefully we can both push on up the table

Just to clear up the reason why stuart nicholls didnt appear on the team sheet was because he didnt play. We do have a Sam Nicholls who played left wing in this match.
