Too many games played on a Saturday. One manager recent stated that there are too few people watching SWPL games as they are playing in East Cornwall / Trelawny / Duchy leagues. Upcountry, a big number of the 'Junior' leagues play on a Sunday thus freeing up players to watch or even play at a slightly higher level.

My club, Newquay AFC put out 4 sides on a Saturday, 2 Senior, 2 Junior. If the Junior players games were on a Sunday, it is possible that as many as 30 players may watch SWPL or Combo games. If you add 15 from each club in each of the 3 league mentioned, the amount of players must reach 1,000 or more, that is players who Senior clubs are unable to attract through the gates or into the bar on a Saturday.

Good topic but way off the 'Falmouth' Management discussion - Les (Cornwalls Ian Holloway) & Robbie (Di Matteo) !

I personally think that most players upcountry play on sundays to watch a much higher standered on a saturday, if we at illogan hav no fixture on a sat ill go and watch our 2nds or 3rds rather than travel across cornwall to a game i dont really care about ill always support our club.

Truro fans are keen to distance themselves from Heaney and his financial record, but the Trophies won (listed below), were BOUGHT with money that neither he, nor City had. Are City fans still happy to claim those successes as their own or those bought by a man who is now hated universally.

1 x Western League Div 1 Winner (Bought)

1 x Western Premier Div Winner (Bought)

1 x Southern League Winner (Bought)

1 x Southern Premier League Winner (Bought)

1 x F A Vase Winner at Wembley (Bought)

Falmouth Town were founded 60 years after City, but have still won more trophies - Don't get me wrong, I have no love for either side, but City fans are delusional !

City fans should claim these successes on behalf of the amazing efforts put in by the players on the pitch, the motivation and tactics instilled by the management and the great support they gave the team.

Most of those 'fans' would never have had a bandwagon to jump on if it wasn't for Heany though. He fed them the glory they craved and now the ingrates do nothing but berate their former hero. They should knock down that statue of that Lander bloke and put up a huge monument to Mr Heany. :D
