Trevensen 2-10 Troon

Woodys report will be up later no doubt

Trevenson 2 Troon 10

For Ponsonby and others that only read 4 lines a quick summary of the game before the longer report; Oliver goal, Oliver assist, Oliver goal, Oliver missed pen... 3 more assists by Oliver a couple more goals and about 6 sitters missed by Cooky before he eventually bagged. Wisey screamer to end the scoring.

Troon never really got out of 2nd gear but still managed to beat a Trevenson side who are much better than this scoreline suggests. Straight from kick off some slick passing down the left resulted in Dan Oliver curling a beauty into to the top corner to make it 1-0 with player/manager Marles not even having touched the ball at this stage. The lead didn't last for long after a soft equaliser was allowed when a long throw wasn't dealt with and the Trevenson player blast the ball past Norwegian international Scott Smeeth who was in goal for the game having lost the pre-game paper, scissors, stone contest to see who would go in nets. Troon then changed formation going to their usual 4-4-2 with Marles having not touched the ball in the opening 15 minutes moving to right-back.

Troon then re-took the lead when Oliver's corner was poked home by Jason Phillips before Rob Kellow's "slightly late" tackle resulted in a penalty which was stroked past Scott "The Statue" Smeeth to make it 2-2. Oliver was again on the score sheet to make it 3-2 before Marles eventually touched the ball with 32 minutes played after a free-kick was harshly given against him for handball. Ashley Wills missed his usual sitter and also ran the length of Camborne during the game following a break in play, when asked why he just ran off Wills replied "I just felt like run-ning". Gaffa Marles was also giving some commentary for ESPN during the game whilst playing with quotes such as "I'm not really up for this game", "That's a proper Sunday League up and under" and "I want to re-live the glory years". On the stroke of half-time Oliver proved that he is actually human when Troon were awarded a penalty for handball and his effort was saved by the Trevenson keeper.

Troon had the wind in the 2nd half and with Oliver appearing unplayable it was soon 4-2 when Bradley Phillips low drive squirmed under the keeper and into the corner of the net. Marles free-kick from the half way line deflected in to make it 5-2 before Cook hit the bar from 3mm out and had his header saved from 6mm. Further goals came with Oliver completing his hat-trick and setting up Cook to eventually score before Bradley Phillips and yet again Oliver scored to make it 9-2 to bag his 16th goal of the season. Woodman had a scuffed effort blocked on the line from a corner - Woodman infact only had 6 touches all game, with the other 5 being 3 slices and 2 shinned clearances. Smeeth went on a couple of FIFA-esq runs from goal before Wise scored the goal of the game following a neat turn and left foot curler that flew into the bottom corner. Wise who had the game of his life revealed that 15 pints the night before the game was the secret to his good play.

6 wins out of 6 for Troon although Trevenson will pick up points this season as they have a number of dangerous attacking players. Troon meet Trevenson again next Sunday in what is the first league game of the season.
