bluenose Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Marazion Res 9 - 1 Penwith Exiles Marazion started with the same side that won on Saturday much to the dismay of Danny Ford who remained in the dugout throwing his dummy around saying he was going back to Hayle...!!!! Before anyone starts with the 'I told you, you cant keep everyone happy,' this was done in jest. We struggled early on with our passing but had lots of possession but just struggled in the final third. We then found ourselves behind when a ball sliced the defense in half and a surprised Penwith Exile forward found himself unmarked 6 yards out to calmly slot pass our keeper. It wasn't long though before Craig Rennard scored a screamer from just outside the box which seemed to deceive the keeper. To be honest if he got a hand to it, it would probably snapped it off. Dale (the screamer) Vigus slotted home a penalty after Matt Thomas was fouled in the box. 3 further goals saw us end the half 5-1 up. Second half was much the same, lots of possession creating chances and scored another 4 goals. To be fair it could have been a lot more but Penwith Exiles never gave up and the game was played in the right spirit. Well reffed by Frank Burnell as well who let the game flow. Not sure what was the funniest, Penwith's keeper for kicking the ground just before a goal kick and seeing the ball trickle just outside the box or an over hit pass for Penwith which was going straight to our keeper only for us to turn around and see him looking for a lost ball at the side of the goal. Thankfully we managed to clear it before they scored. Marazion scorers Matty 4 Liam 1 Dale 1 Wayne 1 Craig 1 Jason 1

Good bunch of lads with some tidy youngsters. Nice to see Tony still running things. Good luck to Lugvan for the season.Well reffed by John Irwin

Guest BenTheYeti Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Division 2 erm, ahhh, welll... St Ives Reserves 3 - 0 Hasetown Reserves Unfortunately, I had to miss the second most important game of the season due to work commitments (the poor waitresses were actually concerned as to why I looked rather down in the dumps this evening.. that was before I started hearing the score.. and before they found out why I was in a rotten mood). So, all I know of the game is, 1-0 to St Ives at Half time, and they pretty much dominated the whole match, we had a man sent off (not sure who or why), and it finished at 3-0. I'm sure when I'm out and about in town over the next few days I'll be regaled with tales of the all conquering St Ives Reserves.. for now, I'm off to stand on a rainy, windswept cliff and stare into the distance whilst Coldplay play faintly in the background..

MOONER Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 Troon 4 v 1 Storm Great start to the season for us only 4 of us left from last season so new team and a new manager . Very even 1st half but we went in 1 nil up ! 2nd half we controlled the game and soon went 2nil up , then the moment the record crowd were waiting for ( poss 50 or more peolple watching ) throw by me to josh who layed it back to me and then a 30 yard curling shot top right hand corner !! My 1st goal for a long long time !! . Storm pulled 1 back but we soon got the 4th and game over !! Cant believe our goalie was mom after my goal !! Not happy !! Lol 17 nil clpper score also made me smile .

Its gets dark! Every one has to play each no matter who is playing where its local football, at the end of a week of work! Just stop your f**king moaning, and get on with your clubs fixtures! THIS MARAZION BASHING AND SLATING POSTS ARE GETTING A BIT BORING NOW! Concentrate on the players/team your club is playing against on your saturday afternoons and im pretty sure everyone will have an enjoyable season. Toodle Pip! (By the way this post is from a Player who will be playing in the same league as Marazion and, Will just be happy to play another saturday afternoon of football rather than worry about who I am playing against.)

Hit us with long balls all game and played to their strengths far better than we did I think that was a slightly harsh write up, lol, must have forgotten when my team carved you open with every goal we scored with good passing moves.... could have and should have been more, I will agree with the 'kicking' element, and that is something I have spoken to my players about, that's not how I want football to be played, even as a centre half I like games to be played in the correct manner. Great strike by Rappo, was the only real chance he got in the game and a true sign of quality the man tucked it away expertly. Over all I thought was a good game, and hope St Erme have a good season and we look forward to the return fixture. Paul

Dave Marks Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 I don't think it's a case of wind up merchants being fed, more valued opinions from both sides. This forum is also here for debate if you think reading it winds you up then think about the obvious. Don't come on here and read it. At Titans last season our second team manager had players that A wanted to only play for him and B were x players of another club that stuck together as mates. I was not happy as 1st team manager because they would not play however I believe I'm right in saying those players are at another club with same manager in a second team in div 5 doing well but I think I'm right also in saying there 1st team are very good. The point I'm making out of this is not a dig at them at all but they I'm sure have players worthy of higher leagues and if required will play 1st team. I think if you play with your mates because you enjoy it that's it end of and good luck to Marazion this season. As a manager I would want 1st team with best players but that nowadays does not seem to be the norm.
