pastyman Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Are there any rules relating to a football club operating without a qualified First Aider or Club Physio at a match?
MEX Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Pastyman, why are you asking this question?
pastyman Posted September 2, 2012 Author Report Posted September 2, 2012 A team within the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League are currently operating without one.
Blakey7 Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Surely rules are rules. If a team have'nt got one, its a fair comment..
Dave Deacon Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 I thought it was also a rule that the sponsors flag had to be flown on a match day!!!!!! :)
pastyman Posted September 2, 2012 Author Report Posted September 2, 2012 Get a life pastymam I would suggest you learn to spell. I see this is your first posting on this site. Let's hope your future comments actually bring something to the forum!
The Professor Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 I think it's a very fair question. Those first few moments following a serious injury or unexpected medical emergency are crucial. If a club is operating without a named individual with the minimum qualification, then they are potentially neglecting the welfare of their players. It happened to a colleague delivering an FA Level 1 course, so it could certainly happen in a more competitive environment.
Dave Deacon Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 I got the impression that a club didn't have a physio/first aid man/sponge man at all
MEX Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Just out of interest, what are the rules/regulations for having a Physio or First aider?
Martin Eddy Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 in the present climate that we live in,most clubs have at least one individual who has the basic first aid skills.be it through football or work

TimmyRaa Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 So what would happen if 2 players go into a challenge, and both get injured?????.
Sam Boston Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 So what would happen if 2 players go into a challenge, and both get injured?????. If one team is without a first-aider they usually ask the other team if they can borrow theirs
The Python Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 so go on then which team is it ? That is simple Pastyman follows Saltash and they played Falmouth on Saturday.
TimmyRaa Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Falmouth didn't have one last year when they played us either. Perhaps they haven't budgeted for a physio??
Argyle Fan Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Falmouth didn't have one last year when they played us either. Perhaps they haven't budgeted for a physio?? So what happens when a Falmouth player goes down injured? Does the match just continue around him? I would imagine the lack of a physio would affect their insurance for their players.

The prize is in the post. Yes, I do follow Saltash United. Falmouth did not have a Physio on Saturday or the Charity Cup Final at Callington.

pastyman Posted September 3, 2012 Author Report Posted September 3, 2012 Hmmmmmm Timmy Raaa and pastyman is your own house in order on ALL counts .Think long and hard now lads .people in glass houses and all that !!! You obviously know something I don't. My comment relating to the lack of a Physio by a club was an observation, not meant to start a "slanging match". Guess you support Falmouth Mattelott!
pastyman Posted September 3, 2012 Author Report Posted September 3, 2012 Keep guessing Paul ! Am I bothered, nope I ain't bothered. :D
