Just had a lovely phone call with the owner/landlord of our pitch, who has been using it as a camping site all summer, and he has declared that unfortunately we are unable to play on it until the 8th September.

Apologies to all the lads at and associated with Helston, we were looking forward to actually starting our season but it looks like the wait goes on!

Yes mate, as soon as I was made aware of the unavailability of our pitch, I contacted Gerald, who was fully understanding. We were made aware in early June that our pitch wouldn't be available until August 28th so got in contact with Gerald at the time to explain the situation, and he duly altered our fixtures for both teams for the season.

Unfortunately, one man's desire to make a couple of hundred pounds on top of his considerable fortune has led to our pitch resembling a banger racing circuit.

I suggested to Gerald about reversing the fixture if it was ok with your club, but as mentioned above, there is a SW league game taking place on the pitch.
