Soccer Follower Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Premer Carharrack 0 Mawnan 2 h/t 0-2 Mawnan dominated play in the first half with the slope advantage and went ahead after 30 mins when good work by kermit down the right set up RJ to fire in.A superb corner was headed in at the far post by the Mawnan central defender. They also struck the crossbar. The home team battled well in the second half but the closest that they came was a shot by Greg Wills which struck the crossbar. The visiting defence gave a masterclass in how to soak up pressure.

Midfield Marvel Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Prem Redruth 4 - 2 St Agnes Aggie went 0-1 up on a rain and wind swept clijah pitch before Redruth rallied and ended the half 2-1 in front. In the second half St Agnes came into the game more and more but Redruth extended their lead to 3-1 before Spencer Hassel missed a pen for the Saints. Brandon Light got his second of the day to bring Aggie right back into the game and they had chances for Sam Connolly, Dave Goundry and Hassel to draw level before Redruth got the 4th late on. A draw might have been a fair result but credit to Redruth who will be hard to beat on the small clijah pitch. Well done to Ben Bado in the Aggie goal, usually a centre forward and played in goal today wearing builders gloves!

Roy Keane is GOD!!! Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Great result for Matty Williams and his new look Gulval, good away win in a very competitive league............ Big bad fox, you earn results, not deserve them!! :c:
The Big Bad Fox Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Of course you earn results and credit to Gulval, but a team can still come away feeling like they deserved something. Just my opinion from the sidelines :)

Dave Marks Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Titans 4-0 Storm Good game played in good spirits by both teams was nice to see both mike & dave in middle of park for storm , especially the thin mike, might text you for some slimming tips, not now but in the next few years any way titans in my biased opinion dominated the majority of the game, but not without the odd break from storm and when the scoreline reads 0-0 at half time it can go anyway. thankfully some nice football got us 2 goals in the opening 5 minutes and that secured the three points . i hope Storm have a good season i personally like that side and i think they will do well and im pleased for my old player mikey whos a bloody lovely player and guy full stop. :)

cornishteddyboy Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Penzance 0-7 Threemilestone Att - 29 Goals for TMS on 12, 21, 22, 25, 38, 61 and 88mins. Of the goals 2 were deflections, one a good header, one a brilliant turn and volley on the edge of the box. The rest were bad marking. Funniest bit was Matt McIlroy of TMS was tackled on 90mins. When down screaming his head off. 10sec later he was upm looking for the youngster ready to lay him out. He really did have it in him to smack the kid. He realised the ref was dealing with it so went down again squealing in pain. Got taken off and rlled around the touchline for another couple of minuted giving it the moans. Penzance had a team last night but lost 3 to the firsts, 2 didn't turn up so with an hour before the match we had 6 players. A totally makeshift team had to be cobbled together! Only half our crowd turned up, they were over the road watching the bladdy rugby!
mitchy07 Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Carharrack 0 mawnan 2 two silly mistakes cost us in the first half leaving mawnan 2 up after 35 minutes and very much on top second half a very different story our midfield dominated and we were on on top for long spells but credit to mawnans back four they didn't really give our forwards a sniff. Things are looking a lot a better at carharrack this season and im sure we will do better. Good luck to mawnan i'm sure u will be up near the top come the end the season matt mitch
Wonderwall Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 @ cornish teddy boy.. Are you sure? That tackle was disgusting! Completely reckless and unneeded, high and two footed.. Very lucky to get away with a yellow. Tms dominated the game, TMS keeper didn't have a proper save to make all game and they should of had a few more, one noticabley a few yards over the line..
cornishteddyboy Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Never said it was a good tackle. The lad received a yellow card for it. It's the fact that Matt got up ready to smack hell out of the kid then went down again and then carried on, on the touchline.

Went to the lions den not really knowing what to expect following all the pre season hype but we ended up playing kittens - was only 9 but in reality could have been more. Peace of advice - take it if you want to - the man on the touch line who could only slag off perran - either get involved or shut up - used to play against you and you were not that great but your continual bitching is only undermining the manager and his team - sounds like you were overlooked for the job and you will do all you can to de-stabilise the side and stop using the number 6 as your sounding board!!!

kasey stoner Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Penzance 0-7 Threemilestone Bright (3) Mcilroy (2) Davies (1) Stephens (1) tms dominated the game from start to finish but were frustrated early on. Once the first goal went in penzance heads dropped and the away team took control of the game. James Bright opened the scoring and went on to complete a first half hatrick. James Davies popped up in the box with a glancing header from a M.Mcilroy free kick and Captain Ryan Stephens volleyed home a lovely tms move to make it 5 without reply going in at half time. Matt Mcilory bagged himself a second half brace as the stones watched chances come and go and walked off the pitch 7 zip winners although knowing it could and maybe should have been many more. overall great result and 3 points to start the campaign. He's looked good so far and will only get better as he gets used to playing centre mid a bit more. As for the weight loss he was giving me tips last night (along with half of St Rumons club!). He tried giving me the impression that it was enjoyable but I don't buy into that crap! Cheers for the tape... I spent 20 mins trying to get some from our changing rooms! ballsax Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Div 1 Praze 0-5 West Cornwall Much improved performance from WC this week, after 2 sub-standard efforts the previous games. Credit to Praze, they were missing a few players and had a very young side, and continued to knock the ball around regardless of the scoreline. First half we couldn't put the ball in the net, and went in 0-0 after missing a few good chances. 2nd half we continued to control the game, didn't get frustrated, and finally took a chance after about 60 minutes. From then on we couldn't miss, funny old game. Anyway, onto next week where we entertain Perranporth, in what could be another tricky game. Well reffed again yesterday, 3 games, 3 good refs. WC scorers. Ian Chatfield 2, Owain Barrett 2, Ben Penberthy

Jamie C Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Carharrack Res 1 Dyer (0) - (0) 1 Hayle 4th Richards Well it was a game played in rough condictions on a lovely August summer day. With the wind howling and the rain coming down at a rate of knots, and the nice big puddle in the centre circle and the extra long grass at the magnificent clijah this game was going to be a thriller. The game started with hayle playing with the wind behind there backs and carharrack defended well when the ball got there. but carharrack dominated the half with possession playing there spainish passing style but did very little to create. Brokenshire created the best chance for Carharrack with a solo effort cutting in from the wing and getting past 4 tackles to fire narrowly over the bar. Hayles best chance was a long range shot the was punched away for a corner by the keeper (me). The 2nd half was a bit more lively with carharrack now using the wind and hayle starting to pass the ball around chances were being created by both sides. But the deadlock was broken by carharrack through Dyer with a 20 yard screamer hitting the top corner to put his side 1-0 up. But with the good old saying your always vunerable after a goal this happened, minutes later hayle had a freekick (or corner) which wasnt properly cleared by carharrack and the lively number 10 (no name) beat the keeper to the ball to chip it to an unmarked D.Richards to tap into an empty net whilst unmarked. Little else came for chances hayle had a few distance shots easily collected by the keeper. But a one handed save was needed by the keeper to stop hayle taking the points. Carharrack did however have a couple chances late on through skelton and dyer but neither were able to convert much to there great efforts to great a chance. A fair result for both sides and a great effort by a young hayle side, with some wise heads helping them out. Man of the Match : Carharrack : Nick Palmer : Hayle : Number 14

We know that scothio has been a bit over confident leading up to this season but you cant deny his heart is in the right place. He is dedicated to his club and I think Perranporth will do ok this season. Some people may have a little snigger at this result as scothio does have egg on his face but if it wasnt for people like scott coming on here having his banter, this forum would be dull and just full of people who get offended all the time and taking everything they read too litterly.

Jeff Stelling Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Div 4 West Cornwall Res 1-1 Redruth Athletic (HT 0-0) Not the best of games from a West Cornwall perspective, Redruth played some good stuff and were as physical as expected and it took us about an hour to start playing. We continued to grow into the game and created several openings in the last 15 minutes scoring what looked like the winner with 4 minutes to go. Fair play to Redruth though, they kept plugging away and scored the equaliser with the last kick of the game. On reflection a draw was probably a fair result. Very well reffed for the majority of the game. Only gripe is that after the game the ref told us that before Redruth equalised he was going blow up for a high foot on our striker but decided as there was only 20 seconds left he thought he would just let the game play out. Gutting for us!
