Bullet Tooth Tony Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 What's gone wrong at Saltash??? Two 4-1 loses in first two games ???
Fab15 Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Even game at millbrook. Lanreath hit on the break at the end chasing the game. A draw would of been a fair result on the balance of play. Good game in difficult conditions
davidyoung Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 How many 1st teamers did Torpoint have in today?
Dave Deacon Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 How many 1st teamers did Torpoint have in today? Torpoint 1sts did have a game themselves today at Tavistock
davidyoung Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 I counted 3 or four Dave (Luke Avis Josh fenwick and Mike Heron) plus Chris Todd on the bench and what about Mike Roberts??? Is he not 1st team??
Rightside O`theriver Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 I counted 3 or four Dave (Luke Avis Josh fenwick and Mike Heron) plus Chris Todd on the bench and what about Mike Roberts??? Is he not 1st team?? Nothing new there, David. With a difficult first fixture such as Parkway it was to be expected. Will be interesting to see who they put out against Villa on tuesday night, what with the first team having no fixture.
Dean Cardew 8 Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Now I know I maybe way off the mark here but surely any 1st team players would have played, erm,.... 1st team yesterday? Or is this one of those trick questions?
davegrose Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 some result 4 kilkhampton against st stephens, thought coady or sinky wud have been on here by now lol
Dave Deacon Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Mike Roberts has dropped down this season
RobVP Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 I counted 3 or four Dave (Luke Avis Josh fenwick and Mike Heron) plus Chris Todd on the bench and what about Mike Roberts??? Is he not 1st team?? Excluding Roberts, the other 3 were awful anyway.
Greenman Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 First teamers in second team could be for numerous reasons. It obviously helps to improve the side, but i feel it also helps others to up their game! Torpoint are a good side with or without the influence of their first team! Good clubs rotate players between teams based around factors such as injuries/ fitness and ability. So may see this as an unfair advantage but on the otherhand could be classed as a well run club!
bigtony! Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Well said Greenman your spot on there,Torpoint are a very well run club with all 3 teams working together
unitedrhino Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Why do we always have this debate, when a team loses to a team in with a 1st team. If you sign for a club you should be able to play for any team in that club, why should players be punished for being good at football. The only thing i disagree with, is if a team plays players from another club with a higher ranked team. If i had my way one signature one club, can't play for anyone else.
Kilk Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Kilkhampton 7 St Stephen 2 Scorers for Kilk: Kerslake - 2 Scaife - 2 G.Walter - 2 Bonney - 1 Great start to the season for Kilk. It was a very poor first half for us but we managed to go in 3-0 up thanks to a keeper error, penalty and a deflected volley. 2nd half, we got the ball on the deck and played some good football managing to score another 4 goals.

Couldn't agree more. Think in the current financial climate a lot more 'clubs' should be adopting similar policies.
coady9 Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Kilkhampton 7 st.stephen 2 We were awful yesterday no were near our best think we handed kilkhamton 6 of there 7 goals! Big improvements needed if we are to do anything this year!
THE LYNX AFFECT Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 liskeard 2 probus 2 credit to both set of players for trying to play good football in the pouring rain all afternoon
Chris Davey Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 liskeard 2 probus 2 credit to both set of players for trying to play good football in the pouring rain all afternoon  This was a good battle between two teams who tried to play football throughout the game, despite the torrential rain and worsening conditions. The referee (THE LYNX AFFECT) did well throughout, despite one dodgy penalty decision! However we had a chat about it in the bar afterwards and I think we convinced him that he was wrong! I thought overall a draw was a fair result and followed our excellent first victory of the season away at Launceston (1-2) on Wednesday night. Although Liskeard had more possession in the second-half they didn’t create too many clear-cut chances and I have to say that I thought that out keeper Fabian Richards handling of crosses and shots was tremendous in the very difficult conditions. Next up is our 3rd away trip in a row at Morwenstow, which is never an easy place to get a result. Hope the traffic is easier next week!
THE LYNX AFFECT Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 never enter my mind chris 100% penalty call totally agree with you about your goalkeeper as well
copey Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Have to agree with chris ref did well in conditions and fabian richards was outstanding!! But definately not a pen and my booking was very harsh!!!!haha but overall a draw was a fair result in hurrendous weather conditions!
THE LYNX AFFECT Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 copes your funny  your defender tried headering the ball with his arm enjoy our banter out on the pitch with you as  well
Magic Mike Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 copes your funny  your defender tried headering the ball with his arm enjoy our banter out on the pitch with you as  well Least it wasn't the old I got there as quick as I could ref line when the penalty was given away...
Bricktop Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Was really impressed with the Torpoint keeper on Saturday pulled off 2 or 3 great saves, and his handling was top class in poor conditions, havnt seen him before but looks a good signing, anyone now who he his and we're he came from?
