Chacewater Res.2 St.Erme 1

On a warm sunny evening in front of a large crowd at the Recreation Ground,Chacewater finally overcame St.Erme with a late winner.

The pattern of end to end play and missed chances for both teams was broken in the first half when Chacewater failed to clear their lines and ace poacher Mark Rapsey superbly curled the ball into the far corner of the net.Dennis Fallowfield was in superb form for St.Erme and denied the home attack before being beaten by Chris Shackley just before the break.

The match carried on in the same vein in the second half and when it appeared that a draw would have been the result of an entertaining match,Shackley popped up with the winner.(I left just before the end so missed the goal!)

All the best to St.Erme, some good friends there, you should have a good season guys.

Always a pleasure to play at Chacewater Nige, a great club with some real characters!! Best the pitch has looked for years as well mate, think that groundsman needs a pat on the back! Mrs said she counted 53 people halfway through the first half! Not a bad turn out for a trelawny friendly!? Pretty even and end to end first half but you were the better side second half and deserved to win definately, especially when the first team lads came on and made the difference, kept Den busy for sure!!. Hope both your teams have a brilliant season Nige and thanks for a good game of football played by both teams mate x
