L.Ricks9 Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 Sticker 2-3 St Dennis Saints goals: Mark Rowe Lee Rickard Chris Brown Sticker goals: Ben Rosevear Lewis Prince How we won this game I don't no, we looked sharp in the 1st 20mins scored a great goal and from there, we went all to pot. Sticker dominated majority of the game and were unlucky not to pick up 3 points, a well battled contest, not supprising in a local derby, But 3 points are 3 points so will take that and move forward to saturday. Oh and a quick thank u to the sticker linesman for stepping in to ref the game, after the appointed ref was a no show and the league never informed sticker this was happening after getting hold of the ref and him saying he rang the league and said he couldn't make the game. The stand in did an ok job, few iffy decisions but was a hard game to ref, harder with it being a local derby, so thanks to him from all at St Dennis for making this game go ahead.

Ian Gregory Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 Hayle 2 Penryn 0 cracking game from the spectators point of view missed chances, both sides hit the post and cross bar several times. Both keepers made a string of good saves. Kevin Lawrence and Chris Bullock with the goals 60 minutes and 75. Only down side Chris Wolstencroft off to Treliske, after collision with keeper left him out cold with a bad cut to inside of upper lip.

kellow Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 Who were the topside linesman (2nd half) and referee of the st.austell v Bodmin game.some Absolute terrible decisions given against both sides. Looked like they'd never ref'd football.

With both sides playing the way it should be played. Went to watch some old Wendron boys play last night... Shaughnessy, Hobbsey, Smarty, Timmo, Coops. Still think they should all return to the mighty Dron! Was interesting to see, with Hobbs playing against Joe Cooper, & Shaughnessy playing on the left against Timmo. Have to admit, Pat was totally nullified by Ed and never really got into the game, fair play to him, with Shaughnessy having biceps the same circumference as Timmo's thighs! Hayle looked decent, still think they will be the surprise package in the SWPL West this season. There's also been a lot of talk about how Penryn are going to struggle this season... have to totally disagree, they seem to have a young, energetic side, with the addition of some experienced heads through the core of the team, Jeweller & Bandy have worked miracles after a mass exodus at the end of the season. Can see them finishing top 6 easily, if not higher, so hats off to the gaffers! :smiley20:

mikesrep Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 Tavistock 6 - 1 Bovey Tracey Tavi went 1 nil up after only 10 minutes thanks to a delightfully placed header - unfortunately from Boveys left back! No more first half goals but it was good to see the home side continually trying to built from the back and create some neat passing moves on a fine night for football. Shortly after half time Bovey went close and levelled soon after with a looping 25 yard shot from Hayden Roe that decieved keeper Andy Meeds. This only seemed to spur some life back into a sluggish home side and the lead was soon restored through Ian Rooke's well placed header. The introduction of John Wyatt really put Bovey on the back foot and wave after wave of attacking play from the hosts led to four more goals. Joe Carey forced the ball home for the 3rd from short range, Wyatt scored a brace (his second a crisp finish after a superb piece of football from Tavi's 2 new wingers) and Dan Pethick netted shortly after coming off the bench. To their credit Bovey never stopped trying and went close quite a few times in an entertaining second half. Bring on Torpoint - should be a tough test for the Lambs! (Didn't have a Pasty so can't comment - and had to drink tea out of a polystyrene cup! - Oh well, I must have been spoiled at the Blues!)
