So, the new season is underway, and already the spurs fans have gone quiet.... Somersetspur, spur4life etc, are no where to be seen. Fair weather forum posters it seems.

As for Uniteds start, who can complain?? Beaten by the better side on the night. Rooney looked sluggish, Welbeck left mid?? Nani only playing for himself! Interesting times ahead in the United camp, oh, and Valencia at right back.

Only good thing for me was Liverpool getting thumped...

I just think that there are going to be a few suprises this season? I do think however that Utd were not at the races lastnight but lets take nothing away fro Everton as i thought they were superb, Michael carrick at centre half?? never rated him as a midfielder.

Carrick can't mark at corners. You can hear his brain ticking. Bet Robbing Pursy has been upset by the hairdryer treatment......Wenger would not have been a cupchucker. That'll keep him quiet ttill about Xmas. Good start for the European Champions.

Fellaini ! An old fshioned physical presence. United don't lke it up'em. Simples !

Spurs ? To be fair, I for one think they'll stay up. Even they're less boring than Arsenal.

I think Spurs will stay up as well, bloody hell Isaac - I'm starting to agree with you, I'll book an appointment with a psychiatrist.

I'll be even more generous...despite the abysmal start of United, Arsenal and Spurs, I still think that Norwich are weaker and none of you will finish bottom. However, it is time the televisual media accorded the same priority respect to Britain's premier clubs, Manchester Ciy and Chelsea. It really is their duty to educate the football public and move on from the "big" teams of the seventoes and eighties.

As I posted elsewhere, your boys used ten years of luck winning the cup last season. You won't get it this year - ho ho ho!

Its funny that cos united never won a league or european cup in the 70's and 80's........... Besides, it is nice that you actually acknowledge us as a " big " team, obviously your bitterness is from skys failure to put more chelsea games on the box, i can only assume that thier thinking is that if they were to put more chelsea games on the tv , then people would cancel their subscription and watch less tedium viewing like Emmerdale...

Well I take that back, you had it again at Reading.

I think we were at the Bridge, which accentuates your point. Torres was half a mile offside when he scored and we won't be able to afford half an hour's nap in the middle of the game against better sides than Reading. Don't get me started on SKY. The same people who ran the nude Harry pictures and whose advertising policy bombards football fans with Grand Theft Auto, alcohol and environmentaly unfriendly cars are in charge of our football coverage. In dealing with the collective of Premier League owners, they are hardly facing a conclave of morality.

Chelsea do not often play Emmerdale football. Bizarrely, many choose to represent us that way because, with Russian backing, we are more suspicious to right-wing media oligarchs than American owners and their oil-rich friends. So the public hate us because we "bought" success. As though Edwards and Dein and Cussins and Sugar and the Moores didn't do exactly the same thing in the past, on a smaller scale, when players wages were slightly less stellar. Reflecting the failing capitalism that produced it,the financial structure of the game is rotten from top to bottom, as is its marketing and media presentation .....yet we all keep shelling out.

We're all intoxicated by the sheer beauty at the heart of the game....what a paradox.

And then there's Blatter....... :)

AVB has lost the plot, got to laff, he instructed one his subs to warm up as he wanted to protect his lead. It was pointed out to him by a member of the coaching team that he had already used his full quota of 3 subs. Spurs fans must be getting worried. Wish them the best of luck for the season. :yahoo:
