isaac rosenberg Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Tinners unlucky to go down to Rynners after establishing half time lead ? Sounds like a cracking result for the Stony Parc boys at Luggy.....thought Jack Willis was a striker, though ??
Jamo Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Well played pendeen today, yes we had 2 or 3 out but poor performance from us today! Onwards and upwards, big response needed in the next game
deen rover Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Ye he is but dexter was unavaliable! Jack was county goalie through all youth football very good !
cornishbarbarian Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 He was good enough today anyway!!
WendronOfficial Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Wendron Scorers Ryan Tressider x4, Adam Keenan, Jack Greenwood. Really good performance, good goals, great attitude. Thanks to Holmans, good bunch of lads and wish them all the best. Not sure on attendance sorry. MOM Jack Greenwood
Mama Sidibe Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Goonhavern 2 Mullion 2 Scorers I Gosling & C Barclay Gate 31 2-2 half time. Disappointed not to have won but I feel a draw was probably a fair result. Mullion had their chances too; got some handy players. I'd be surprised if that Mullion side was similar to the one that struggled in the league last season.
that_boy_ennerz Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Mullion scorers - Alan Thomas, Sam Harry Draw was a fair result after 90mins, both sides played some good football! Mullion could have won in if Rob Carey hadn't hit the post with an open goal!
thejman Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Troon 1-2 Falmouth Town Not an ideal opening game for troon against the defending champions but i feel we more than held our own against them, of anything i feel we deserved a draw out of the game as we had more of the ball in in the attacking areas and played the better football thoughout the game. that said, if town continue to grind out results like this i'm sure paul wont mind! troon conceded two sloppy goals early doors, but grabbed one back before HT, and pushed town in the 2nd half, troon had a pen which was well saved by scoffy, town also had a couple of chances which i think they'll feel they should of scored, but all in all i'm happy with the performance of the troon lads, considering we have lost a couple of key players we will dust ourselves off when we take on penryn on tue night.....nice easy couple of games for troon to start the season off............!! lol, all the best to paul and town for the season, if they can work a bit harder as a unit when going forward they will have another good season, by the way dan knowles is still up the club enjoying his 7th burger.......the mans a machine!!!
Jamo Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Scoffy is good at pens lol, glad for him, how come he played in goal for Falmouth as thought he was management at Hayle?
Minns Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Holmans goalscorer was young solomon coppola... wendron played well and should be around top come the end of the season... cheers to wendron and best of luck for the rest of the season ..... :D
chippy10 Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 pendeen with a young team got the result they deserved today through total commitment against a strong illogan side missing a couple of players but so were they. nice to see plenty of support from the pendeen faithful.thought the referee had a good game except playing the advantage rule, pendeen lino spot on with every decission, keep up the the good work.roll on tuesday,
one2many Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Falmouth Athletic put on a good show today. played with great confidence. The unity of the team is briliant. A briliant starting 11 which if they stay loyal to each other they will do much better than last season. Newquay look good, young but fit and organised..... great day out
SY WINNAN Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Great game today between st just and penryn both teams below strength with players away and 1st team call ups!!! I had to the run the side one last time in the absence of Phil who was at a family wedding and the boys done me and penryn proud today!!! St just played some good footie and deserved there 1-0 lead but the boys came out 2nd half and played some real good stuff I think we deserved to sneak it!!! St just will be contenders this season and I'm hoping with the arrival of Phil penryn will do okay as we'll!!! Godda agree Neil did look fit shame about the gai goaty though xxxxx
timski Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 well said chippy, all the doubters in deed , well done Dre, the coaching staff, The mighty black & yellow army, and i big thank you to all the lads you showed passion, you showed belief, and you showed pride in your club and Jacko Wills you,ve been promotted to head of the table for sunday roast round at Lisa mum and dad house , 4 class saves deserves all the trimmings all i can say is the future is bright , the future is Black and Yellow , we done to everyone , roll on Tuesday night
S-H-3 Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 I thought that we (Mullion) proved today that we can battle with people in the league this season, as we stood up to the challenge of Goonhavern very well for a young side. Goonhavern were a very physical side with a lot of high and stength through out the team, was particularly impressed with there striker who was a right hand full and will cause a lot of teams a lot of problems this season, there other player that impressed me was the number 8 who played the simple football very well and had some great touches. So well done to Goonhavern, who will be feeling a bit dissappointed with a draw after the end to end, exciting football in the last 20 minutes creating a lot of chances. But this was also a credit to the work rate we put in as a young side and also a young defence at the end of the game finished with a back 4 aged 16, 19, 19 and 16. Also the work rate of Jacob Lugg and Ennerz in the middle did very well against a midfield 3 which Gossing was part of, can both hold their heads up high tonight! I feel that we are happy with the draw as we had a good performance and put it about with the big boys of Goonhavren but deep down we will be dissappointed ourselves knowing that we could have just as easy come away with the 3 points after myself missing a sitter and also Rob Carey hitting the post. Lets hope that we can all recover from our aches and pains in time to put out another good performance on Tuesday.
A.Nother Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Rodney - Yes, Tinners were fairly solid in the first half, although could have gone behind during a short spell midway through the half. Second half we tired at the back late on. Were without four regulars, but those who came in worked hard and gave a good account of themselves. Toby Cape was a rock in defence as usual. Keeper made a brilliant save late on but conceded almost immediately, not his fault. Penryn played well and from a Tinners point of view, I'm glad the away strikers were off target once or twice. Neil Curnow scored a great goal and looked very fit for a first of season game. Well done lads, we'll be there at the end !! would this be the four who have signed for Pendeen????
Pitty Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Wendron 6-1 Holman Sports Club Att 40 Ht 4-1 New season same old struggles but that's the challenge and to be honest we would be bored if it was easy! . Putting a pretty depressing pre season behind us where we had lost a couple of big fish to go swimming in a little pond so we've had a bit of "lackofplayeritus" grip the club compounded by this morning having Aaron Meridith going AWOL reports of him joining the roadies on the my chemical romance tour are unconfirmed! Tarik kalkans buggered off to turkey for two weeks....fingers crossed he gets back in through immigration and Adam couldn't get a day release. Luckily a trip past mothercare conjured up 4 sixteen year olds who rather then wrap them in cotton wool we thought sod it and chucked them straight in to the action! Lovely day at wendron and the pitch in great condition. Unfortunate that 28 other teams at underlane using the facilities but we grabbed a deli ticket and got our turn in the changing room at 2:57 a good turnout from the Holman faithful today to the extent I can't name them individually for once as it was over 3! As usual jase lost the toss which was a timely reminder to never go to the casino with him and we kicked off with both sides playing some neat passing football in particular the 4 holmans rug rats who were showing no fear and after 10 min some great play from sam trevena and kiz o connor found Rikki smith who is clearly either related to Tom daly or of Chinese descent who was clipped in the area and spread eagled himself which frankly would have won the gold for team gb (joking aside it was a penalty he did get clipped). Up stepped 16 year old sol Coppola! I know great name don't ever annoy him or you may wake up with a horses head in your bed! who duly dispatched the goal to score on his adult football debut. Sadly the away sides hopes of a result were quickly dashed as wendron showed what a good passing side with pace can do and ripped through the holmans back line for three goals in quick succession dashing the hopes of a new years eve party at blaythorne tonight So on the backfoot as usual the visitors tried to get back into the game but sadly to no avail. Kiz o Connor was injured in the 2nd half allowing holmans veteran tony eddy a run out for the first time in over 12 months. Sadly my request for a truffle shuffle as he came on was denied but he had a really good 25min and it was good to see him back even though he gave me a look that could kill when I played a ball through that god forbid I expected him to do a usain bolt after....fair enough it was a rubbish pass but it's fun making tony run like Forrest gump. Chances were limited in the 2nd half wendron must have had a freaky gust of wind at one point because one of their corners went str8 in either that or Ben our goalie may have slightly misjudged it!!! So a loss which is rubbish but some good positives with our new players and if we can track lord Lucan Meridith down and smuggle Tarik past immigration we might pick up a few points here and there....local derby Tuesday at mullion......well it must be a local derby because we get to travel there on a Tuesday night so it's really close to Camborne like st day hayle and Illogan. The following week we have that other well known local Camborne side Pendeen away on a Tuesday evening . Need to examine the fixture generator machine it's clearly on the fritz!!
Scoffy Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Scoffy is good at pens lol, glad for him, how come he played in goal for Falmouth as thought he was management at Hayle? just penalties though jammo the rest of my games suspect lol :-) x
Dave Marks Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 New season same old struggles but that's the challenge and to be honest we would be bored if it was easy! . Putting a pretty depressing pre season behind us where we had lost a couple of big fish to go swimming in a little pond "Well you say little pond neil but to be fair it is div 2 of the trelawney league, admittedly its not combo but you do have a team there as i watched yesterday no better than perhaps div 4 status. I personally do feel as i have stated on a previous post the reason why your club does not attract players, 1 you seem to prefer players in there 40s and 50s who like a drink and feed the bar and some feel they can play till the end of time. 2, young 16 year old players at the quality of sam etc should be nurtured in to the side they were clearly being torn apart at times needless to say, knowing the likes of sam he done very well. it would just be nice to ease them in but i appreciate with no players you have little choice. i will keep this to a minimum neil but i don't think you should look at big fish swimming off to a small pond more big fish tired of being in a polluted pond with no daylight shining through."
Mercenary09 Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 I decided to watch St Ives v St day yesterday and I must say with all the money rumours etc going around St Ives were the superior team they just couldn't put the ball in the net otherwise St day were looking for a heavy defeat it's clear that St day have got some serious work to do as this combo league isn't gona be given to them!! Although St day had there chances they don't understand the meaning of passing at a crucial time doesn't matter who gets the goals aslong as the result is right I predict there gona struggle and stay a mid table team with performances like that!! Trathen and Harris have clearly got to re think strategies especially against the big boys in combo but all in all a entertaining game it's gona be a interesting season
kevin richards Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Now Now girls !! both of you are too big & ugly to get into petty arguments ! Players come & go, thats a fact &, in my opinion, there are far to many clubs for the amount of players, especially around the camborne area ! What tends to happen to younger players is that they reach the age of 18, & we all know what happens then !!! hence managers tend to stick with people they know, trust & are reliable ! The hardest job for any manager these days, is being happy in the knowledge that you have 14 people you can rely on to turn up every saturday, if your lucky enough to have some quality in that 14, BONUS.!!!!! I consider you both good mates so this is not a shit stiring comment ! Good luck to you both for the season & look forward to you buying the beer on tuesday night Pitty ! :yahoo:
Pitty Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 I think my silence to the comment speaks volumes kev not being drawn into an argument with someone who has nothing to do with holmans or the combination league in general
Dave Marks Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 HAHA thats due to the fact you did your talking via text enjoy your season i will look out for your results :D
bigbadbarry Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 dave marks 4 holmans manager
rat Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 dave marks 4 holmans manager it sounds like he thinks he could do a better job
Portreathlegend Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Marksy, you are amazing! As for holmans not the right man, look at titans, moving along nicely, had there own pitch facilities to push for senior football, last year Marksy manages to lose a cracking second team manager and all the loyal background staff who have been at club since start, if you want holmans to step backwards he is your man!
Cornwall_Hammer Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Very unfair criticism of Holman SC! Great club filled with good characters! :c:
Pitty Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Following a reaction to a match report that has been misinterpreted as being aimed at 1 club I unfortunatley will no longer be posting on this site. Thankyou to mr deacon and mr Chown for providing this platform for the football community to voice their opinions however when those opinions then interfere with someone's personal life it clearly has become far to serious. I will continue to be associated with holmans for the next 9 months and will then stand down at the end of may as secretary and have also made the decision to retire from playing at that same time I hope the club i have been associated with for the last 16 years comes back stronger over the next few years and that i have managed to keep it all together long enough for the right people to take it forward Wishing everyone the best of luck for the season ahead Regards Neil
Jamo Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Pitty don't let them get to you mate! I always have a soft spot for holmans, first men's club I played for in 1987-88! Ripe old age of 15 then, you were allowed to play at that age back then lol, great club with great people This site is full of people that want to wind things up rather than discuss local football without it getting personal, just ignore it I say, you do a great job at holmans and are a top bloke, known you for a lot of years, stick in there mate
Portreathlegend Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Pitty my comment was aimed at marksy not at holmans at all, you keep going mate, jealousy I think because no one wants him!
MJP Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Neil Pitt is a bigger and better man than anyone that critices him on a website. He will be a huge loss to Holmans and to local football. Some People seem very bitter and twisted about the standard of football they are involved in! Anyone that gives up their time should be applauded not slated.

Dave Marks Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 no1 mr pitt was calling it a day which for HOLMANS is a shame. No2 jamo my post is not to wind anyone up it is my honest opinion of the club as it stands . No3 porttreath leg end we at titans are doing very nicely unlike portreath, but certain people that were at the club last season perhaps did not realise that it would cost 2500 pound for one season at our last home and a fifth of that back cricket club. as for two teams this club must walk before it contemplates running. Any further info you require perhaps you would address on the proper forum page. finally there is no bitterness towards HOLMANS or anyone associated with it it has great tradition of which I have played and managed twice it requires an overhaul and if people don't like my opinion on that I couldnt give a damn.
Jamo Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Marksy I didn't single you out in my comment, I just said there are a lot of people on this site in general that personally wind people up But as you love holmans so much, why not offer to step back up to combo and offer your help to Pitty?
Portreathlegend Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Until you can run your own club and keep the respect of everyone in it maybe you should forget about other better clubs!

Portreathlegend Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 · Hidden by cornishteddyboy, August 19, 2012 - hidden because of personal insult Hidden by cornishteddyboy, August 19, 2012 - hidden because of personal insult Pitty is better off without Marksy and his shite attitude towards players and committee members, Marksy has ruined titans, made all committee members walk away last year, will walk away from them and doesn't care a toss, wrong attitude and only club that deserves him is a golf club!
JoeyTheJoker Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 St Day are and will always be poor.
ex no 9 Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 St Day are and will always be poor. Why do you constantly refer to St Day, when they have had nothing to say on any prediction this year. Grow up and join Mercenary09 as he says Trathen and Harris. You are a head and Richard. Alphabetically obviously. Yours sincerely Trathen Andy, Harris Matthew. All the best, love you lots <3
Minns Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 pitty is a fantastic bloke!!! i know how much he puts into keeping holmans going and its been a difficult few years as every time we get a squad together players leave which is football but it does leave an unsettled changing room who are unfamiliar with each others game, but as we said yesterday we can take the positive's out of the game and and push on from now, only one game has gone still a long old season to go yet :) :)
