So here we go again? Are Helston paying? If they are then someone forgot to give me my pay packet on Saturday! I am not going to come on here and say no Helston don't pay because its been said so many times and still rumours fly around so here goes:

The Goalkeepers - 2 new pair of gloves, £1200 signing on fee, complimentary car parking space in the car park, dietary advice, £60 a week and £450 clean sheet bonus.

The Defenders - £1000 signing on fee, £60 a game and £35 tackle bonus. Hugh Howlett is getting financial help for his hairline also

The Midfielders - £1450 signing on fee, £80 a game and £45 for every completed pass. Charles Young earned himself a whopping £80 this week, what a passer.

The Strikers - £2000 signing on fee, £120 a game and £75 per goal.

The Golden Boy (Liam Eddy) - £1,000,000 signing on fee, £125,000 a game and £20,000 for every goal he scores

I hope this helps the rumours that are going around.

In all seriousness though Helston lay a bus on for their players to the further away games. No expenses are needed to be paid as all of the Helston players live in the town, except Hugh Howlett who lives about 3 miles away. The goalkeepers do get gloves but thats about it, oh and I had to buy a crate for the bus journey home and spent about £4 in fines.

So Youngy only completed 1 and a bit passes? How does that work?

Although I dislike Helston, not even sure why as I am a Helston boy, you have to admire how they have built a squad of players based in and around Helston; no one seems to travel any real distance like other teams do in their league and position, so for that they must be credited. It is about time Helston had a successful side for a town of it's size.

Whether or not they pay players or not is irrelevant. I am sure the vast majority of them would play for the club regardless, and I am sure that the fact they put on a coach for away trips is beneficial in terms of keeping players and 'bonding sessions'.

Paying footballers at this sort of level is part of the game these days, whether we like it or not. But who can blame the players when they aren't committed to any club to go to whoever offers the thickest brown envelope on a Saturday.

For me personally, Wrexham would be the only team to prize me away from Wendron.

Anyway, isn't this meant to be about the Fal Ath manager position?

Too many haters hating on here these days.

I heard a rumour that Melville Benny has put his name in for contention with Phil Stevens as his assistance.

Melville would bring alot to Falmouth Athletic, like his wife Theresa who would be happy to be physio and give those young athletic players a rub down, but would probely have competion from Phil Stevens who would also like that oppertunity.

He would also bring a contraversial new goalkeeper to the club Micheal williams, not a fantastic keeper but could attract some youth to the squad.

the only way is up for athletic

Legend for what - listening to stupid rumours and believing them? As Follower said - no matter what is said by Helston everyone makes up their own minds - perhaps you can provide us with specifics and we will check it out thoroughly and publish the findings.

Anyway best of luck to Athletic in finding a manager soon

As I said "is the pope a catholic" maybe your the ONE! not being financially assisted.

Liam Eddy golden boy? you need to brush up on your spelling, you don't spell "falling down man" like that.

Maybe you should brush up on your grammar - it should be The Pope with capital letters because it is a title/name if you are going to be obsequious.

And a question mark don't forget.

Arguements are over and void when people resort to correcting grammar and spellings so let's end this here. This forum is getting petty and bitchy.

Agreed - almost as petty as Helston paying money.

Exactly. That is Helston's business, no one else's. They've answered the acquasation, people still aren't happy. What is the poinnt of asking if you have made your mind up already. It doesn't matter who is paid, or not paid. It makes beating them even sweeter.

Have a good season guys

Surely this is beyond a joke now, If you have a problem with Helston or not, take it to the SWPL forum, not quite sure how it was brought up, but jus incase anyone noticed they dont play in the combo anymore. I know a lot of the Helston lads and they are genuine guys, So what if they do or do not get paid. The only reason it gets talked about is because people are jealous of their situation or with how well they are doing. Good luck to Helston for the season

More importantly to this thread, Good Luck to Falmouth in the Manager search!!!!

Quite possibly the worst joke/bit of banter I've ever heard, although I love your originality because let's face it no one has ever said that!!!
