Callington Town V Plymouth Argyle XI

Recommended Posts

Just had confirmation that the game at the Marsh is all set to be on tomorrow 15:00 Kick Off. There was slight concern because of the rain but the pitch is looking in great condition.

The game marks the opening of the new clubhouse, credit to everyone who have been involved in that. Hopefully everything goes smoothly but if anything does need ironing out they have time to do so in preparation for The Charity Bowl day the club are hosting in the near future.

Callington Town...0 Plymouth Argyle U18...2

CALLINGTON took the opportunity to open their brand new and impressive clubhouse prior to this friendly against Argyle's youth team at the Ginsters Marshfield Parc.

A crowd of over 200 watched the Peninsula Division One West outfit put up a good show against the Pilgrim's promising youngsters despite going a goal behind after just seven minutes.

Jordan Berry showed good feet as he found space at the far post to fire past Cally 'keeper Jamie Blatchford.

Argyle added a second, two minutes before the break, when Tyler Harvey dispossessed Matt Thackeray before expertly chipping the ball over Blatchford, from the angle of the box, for the ball to rebound off the far post and on to the unfortunate Chris Brown and into the net.

Brown's afternoon of misery was completed in the dying minutes when his crude challenge on Harvey rightly earned him a straight red card.
