Callington 2 Foxhole 0

Wednesday 18th April 2012

Depleted Foxhole set out their stall to defend and successfully achieved that end magnificently, being beaten only by a eighth-minute own-goal when Lucas' pull-back from the right cannoned into the net off Holland's back leg, and a penalty two minutes from time when the keeper's under-hit goal kick was seized upon by Farnham who was tripped in the box by Camps, earning the substitute a caution. Farnham's confident despatching of the spot-kick was harsh on the battling Foxes, who had managed to repel virtually everything that had been thrown at them, to the extent that Holland was not required to make any other saves.

Other than Rundle's first-half lob which almost caught out Blatchford, the Foxes were unable to offer much of a threat, although Griffin was at least able to keep Jefferis occupied with his trademark ebullience, the home skipper also having his name taken for dissent. Without both Stone and Holland, Rescorl was drafted in and he acquitted himself well, and can count himself unfortunate to be booked after colliding with Smith, while Trudgian excelled at sweeper and Stephen produced arguably his finest performance in a striped shirt.

Foxhole (3-5-2): Ryan Holland; Adam Trudgian, Ryan Stephen, Tom Rescorl; Connor Mewton (sub. Gary Camps), Jamie Coates, Aydan Rundle, Sam Kenny, Pete May (sub. Daniel Allen); Richard Griffin, Ross Turton.

Referee: Mr Chris Stevens (Fowey).
