St Dennis 1-1 vospers

Saints goal:

Carl Rickard

Supprisingly the game went ahead, 2 hours of rain before kick off made the pitch unbelievably wet.

We had the majority of the 1st half and should have gone in with at least 3 goals up, carl ricks missing 2 great chances and Kyle friendship some how missing from on the line, vospers came out better 2nd half.

With it being 0-0 at half time I'd say due the each teams 2nd half performances a draw a fair result.

Falmouth 2 Parkway 1 ( ht 0-1 )

Deserved victory for Falmouth today which puts them in the driving seat for third place .We're hoping that we can pick up another victory or two and not go into an end of season slump .

Not a great game to be honest , was pleasantly surprised to find a warm spring day and a decent looking pitch after driving through torrential rain all the way from Plymouth to Truro .Lovely pint of Tribute before the match as well .

Parkway looked a bit patched up and down to bare bones . A few recent injuries and suspensions have taken their toll .Too many players in the side today looked like square pegs in round holes who were uncomfortable with their roles and contributed little . It looked like we picked up one or two more injuries today as well .

I am also assuming that we have no further suspensions to come . Will Stringer certainly looked like he was doing his best to talk his way into the referee's notebook after the final whistle as we left the ground

St Blazey looked good for their 1-0 ht lead at Lanson. At Half time our goal keeper couldnt play on with his injury so a major change around to take the gloves meant we looked a different side. Half way through the second half it looked wed done enough to hold on and a great strike from distance smashed the post with the Lanson keeper well beaten. That was the turning point as minutes later it was 1-1. With in minutes they broke away and made it 2-1 which was very poor as we had a freekick on the edge of their area. St Blazey then reduced to 10 men for a second yellow card and Lanson secured the points with a good move in the dying minutes.

Awful weather all afternoon and a poor crowd of barly 60. (thats everyone watching!!)

Dobwalls AFC 1 (Martyn Hake, 35)

Newquay AFC 3 (Luke Weldhen, 7 & 22/Glen Squires, 47)

A win for The Peppermints in the thunder & lightning at Lantoom Park against a stuttering Dobwalls side who, to be fair, made it difficult for the champions at times. Not an exiting match but another couple of goals for top marksman Luke Weldhen whose performances this season have been nothing short of superb. Man of the match was teenage winger Lewis Hilton who set up all three goals with his talent, pace and searching crosses. Was impressed by Josh Notman and Martyn Hake for Dobwalls.

For 90 minutes on the way to Falmouth the heavens opened up and for 90 minutes on the way back from Falmouth the heavens opened up again. To be truthfull the 90 minutes I was watching football was like hell had opened up .Poor game today and I thought Parkway looked out of sorts and lost their shape. Great goal by Cooper and I thoight the penalty was a bit harsh. To be fair the best team won on the day.

No pasties left by the time I got there either.

Unhappy Bald One today !!!!!! :(

A fair sensible report there-

It was the usual competitive encounter between these teams played on a difficult hard surface-I didn't note any bookings

Mark Vercesi penalty takes him to 30 (All Games) for the season and likewise Matt Drummond it is the first time that two Falmouth players have scored 30 or more(in the same season) since 1986-87 when Neil Phillips 42 and Phil Shapcott 38 did the business.

Dan Green's winner took Falmouth's Peninsula League tally at Bickland Park to 65 in what was the last Home game.

It beats last seasons record haul of 61

Great result for us. Was a bit worried before hand knowing Parkway have such a good record at Town, and having seen the game up there, but we did well and deserved the points. Well done Dan Green...he also won us the penalty for the equaliser.

Did you vote for player of the year Mike?

After watching the game, I feel that a draw would have been a suitable result for both teams as the referee done his upmost to disrupt the game with woeful decisions such as the penalty. Parkway did look out of sorts but with the unavailability of Lance Bailey and Ryan Richards, and Marc Bonney coming back into the line up with sickness all week, however, I hope that the Plymouth Parkway boys can pick up a final few points to finish the season on a high with all that has gone on in a round the club. They deserve a lot of credit for what they have done over the last few months and it is not all forgotten given the past two results.

Ivybridge Town 1-2 Torpoint Athletic

Another hard working team performance by the Gold & Black Army to secure our 9th win on the bounce. With a Chris Maskell 20 yard free kick curling into the top corner in the first half before Joe Truelove levelled the scores a minute before half time. Liam Thornton scored midway through the second half. Torpoint played well in last third of the game and it could of been a couple more goals. The crowd was around 75.

I must congratulate Ivybridge Town on Erme Valley, the ground looks really good now, they have worked hard to get it to a high standard.

...woeful decisions such as the penalty.

Falmouth Town supporters who were not behind the goal were saying that they didn't know what the penalty was for. If you were close by; it was a clear infringement. Green was clipped; his run was altered and his shot was scuffed. Very good decision by the referee.
