David Bray
:c: For the next two Sundays the spotlight falls upon Cornwall Under 18 Girls representative side. They have back to back fixtures against Dorset Under 18 Girls in the South West Counties Championship. On Sunday the girls travel to Portland United's ground whilst the following week Dorset travel to Wadebridge Town's Bodieve Park for the return fixture. Both matches are scheduled for a 2.00 pm start. The Cornwall side is under the controll of Martin Hatfield and Rob Brandreath and after a very successful training session at Truro College last Monday evening the following 14 girls have been selected to travel to Portland. Katie Pearce, Nicola Russell, Beth Thomas...Truro City Ladies FC. Monica Lewis,Georgia Lane....Truro College Ladies. Kaylie Lane, Cassie Ringham, Courtney Ward...Newquay Ladies. Beth Willshaw, Danni Hay...Charlestown Ladies. Amelia Lovegrove...Launceston Ladies. Katherine Bryant...Kilkhampton Ladies. Tegan Nichols...Bude Town Ladies. Katie Ashworth...Hayle Ladies. Cornwall's only other fixture was way back in September when a very inexperienced side suffered a heavy defeat against Somerset Ladies by 6 goals to nil at Launceston's Pennygilliam Ground. This on paper is a much stronger squad and the management are hopeing to put points on the board before the final match of the season later in the month away to Somerset. :c:
David Bray
The above fixture was postponed by Dorset CFA as the pitch at Portland United was declared 'waterlogged' at 7.15 am this morning.!!!!! A big letdown for the girls and the Management.

David Bray
At Portland Dave? It's on top of a mountain! That's what's so frustrating Tommy. Despite this 'we' are determined to play on Sunday at Bodieve Park (2.00pm) in the return fixture. The girls, the same as the boys, deserve the opportunity to play for their County.
