Having watched Biscovey and Callington, theres no way the ECPL side would have beaten Biscovey by that score. Unless Callington have made 8 / 9 signings in the last two weeks I cant see how they can field there ECPL and third team on the same day. Opps forgot their 1st team didnt play today!

We (liskeard) were poor and got what we deserved. A much improved kilkampton side for earlier in the year-with a few new faces in from holsworthy peninsular I believe and they got the better of us. To be fair we have had it coming for the last few games now-very small squad, but with a few additions now come in and players coming back from injury we should be able to start to jell again and get back to winning ways. 1st loss of the season-think its the kick in the ass we needed!!

Parkway v Elburton

Cracking 2nd half by both teams. Once again, just like 1st game, Parkway sneaked the winner in the dying seconds after a blunder by Elburton defender. Elburton deserved a point as they had Parkway on the backfoot for most of the 2nd half. But its the goals that count. Elburton have adapted well to Premier football reckon they should finish top 6. Think Parkway have a few injury problems, get that sorted and they have a good chance of top 2 finish.

we (parkway) played well for the majority of the game against a battling elburton side who to be honest will think them selves unlucky not to get a point! considering we won with no real issues Tuesday eve against them in the cup they really came with a game plan to try and take the game to us, and in parts they did! the first 25minutes was all us then two injuries in 5minutes stopped our momentum and moving players around into different positions did allow elburton to press and got their goal that I could see coming in the last 10 of the 1st half..... 2nd half was all action from teams, with the wind in their sales they did push us but if I'm honest (and slightly biased) we had a little more quality to help get the win! tough game though and good luck to elburton for the rest of the season...... well refereed too! ....... sticker away in the semi finals of the cup, Devon premier cup quarters (on sat) and pushing for the league title ..... we are in good positions and that hard win yesterday will only benefit us!

They already are, several points clear! My players need to concentrate on their own form and not worry about the form of Liskeard, St Teath and Millbrook, who are all very good sides.

that is true mattp liskeard, polperro,st teath and millbrook are all good teams and it will be a good end to the season good luck to all the teams involved in the promotion battle i will try and get to a couple

Which Callington team turned up today? Was Callingtons first team home game postponed today?

Thanks Mex, our guys are grateful for comparing the second team to the firsts - but to pour water on your thoughts, only Andre Rodukov played from the first team squad, and that was to help his confidence and match practice. The only other two new players we had were one from the third team (Krystof Bartycha) and a new guy from Poland (Norbert Beza) who played his first game in Cornish football. The rest were the second team players. The difference on Saturday was two-fold. First we played without putting ourselves under pressure and played with smiles on our faces, and the second was that Biscovey had an off day. However, as always, their hospitality was second to none both before, during and after the game.

We will have a lot ot tests to come in the coming weeks, but hopefully Saturday will allow the team to move forward together.

Should be a couple of cracking games Andy, we are all looking forward to it and before the second leg we play you at your place in the league, lets hope all the players are fit and the ref also has a good game! See you on the 17th March.

Callichairman, sorry for this late reply but Ive had to work a few extra hours this week to try and keep our family business going. The new supermarket in our town is killing our business, and I havent been able to catch up on the forum as quickly as I would have liked to. Sorry to digress, yes a great result for Callington this weekend. Having watched both Cally 1st and 2nds your quite right, they are both probably the same standard. Would like to know how the bottom pitch was playable, but the top pitch was not? Was this down to leaving a late inspection? can understand that as it was Gunnislake.

No bud, the bottom pitch is a fully natural surface, allbeit one hell of a slope - we have an ongoing problem with the right hand side of the main pitch where it meets the slope - due to many reasons the drainage is not working as well there - something we hope to address during the summer. On your other point, it was not me though who compared the two sides, as we know that the firsts have won four of their last five SWP games. The comment was to suggest that our first team were used to play against Biscovey - which we would not do firstly because it is not in the spirit of the game (although technically the FA demand that each team playing should put out their strongest possible side for each game and with the firsts postponed the rules state we should have played them) and secondly, we were never in trouble with the number of players in the second team. They just played with a different, smiling attitude which was a pleasure to watch. One swallow does not a summer make and the full picture will not be seen until after the season finishes but I am pleased to see both the seconds and thirds producing victories.

Before anyone asks questions about this Saturday, the firsts are not playing as it is Senior Cup weekend and our planned opposition (Penryn) are playing - so we have a blank weekend.
