Slippers renfree 2, rob ecclestone and Tom hunt for mawnan, I missed pendeens goal as it was scored after about 2 minutes. 2 mawnan goals disallowed, 75 minutes worth of whinging at the ref and 456 swear words and all from the opposition!

fal lad Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 Div 3 St Ives 4-2 Fal Athletic Deserved win for st ives, we started really slow and they raced into 3-0 lead, which is when we started to play football, pulling a goal back through Steve Coggin with a screamer for 25 yards just before half time. We scored a 2nd with 10 to go, when Ben Kellow tapping in from 5 yards making for a tense finish. St Ives were award a penalty right at the death which they scored to hang on for a well earned win and our 1st league defeat of the season

BickyNutt Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 Div 3 St Ives 4-2 Falmouth athletic St Ives Scorers: Alex Brown x 2 Danny Paynter James Worrall Though it may look a shock result, St Ives have won 6 of our last 7 games since we have a change of manager and we have started to put some great results together. After we went 3-0 up I think we got a little too confident which is when Falmouth started to get back into it. It was a great strike which seen them pull 1 back just before half time, and in the Second half we could and perhaps should have put the game to bed, but 20 minutes before full time they pulled another goal back which made it a nervy finish for St Ives, but we got a penalty in the last few minutes which sealed the deal. The Ref did ok in my eyes, maybe a couple of decisions were a bit dodgy but you can't get them all right. Good luck to Falmouth for the rest of the season.

natogreenvanman Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 RNAS Culdrose reserves 4 - 0 frogpool Culdrose extend their lead at the top of trelawney 3 after beating a very well drilled frogpool side. Culdrose went 1 up after a few chances and it stayed that way for over an hour. Frogpool play some good football though never really troubling the Culdrose keeper. The second came after a cross from Simmo was headed into his own goal by the frogpool defender. This brought about a second wind in Culdrose who Ghent decided to play football again and the next 2 goals were after some good football. Thanks to frogpool for their patient wait for the food. Easily the joint best side we have played this season ( along with Wendron). See you for the return leg in may!
Mama Sidibe Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 Premier Illogan 1-1 Goonhavern (0-1 h/t) Disappointed not to have come away with 3 points today after going 1-0 up after about 30 minutes after Joe Carlyon bent the ball over the home 'keeper following a good team move and through ball by Sam Waters. Fairness to Illogan, they had a few decent half chances in the first half and were particularly dangerous from set plays. Tony Chapman got down well to save from Adam Calloway on a couple of occasions. We missed a golden chance to double our lead right after half time when Sam Mansfield went through on goal however his attempted lob was well saved. Neither side created any clear cut chances prior to Illogan equalising with about 10 minutes to go when their substitute headed in from close range. Ian Gosling forced the home 'keeper into a smart save with about 5 to go and fired a free kick wide with the last kick of the game. Had 3 top games against Illogan this season. Game was well reffed by Kevin Bennetts.

Phil Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 Premier Division Threemilestone 3, Ludgvan 5. didn't see the 1st half but we were 3-0 when i got there, and were 5-0 down after an hour, then started to play a bit and scored 3 in the final few minutes and ludgvan looked a mess, hopefully this late flurry will bring us back to life after a bad run of results in Jan. Game exellently reff'd by Colin Spence, and i thought the Ludgvan lino was also excellent.

mikeyp Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 Illogan 1 Goonhavern 1 We started really well and put goonhavern under alot of pressure but could'nt get the goal we needed, credit to goonhavern they got there goal after some poor play from ourselfs and a good finish from joe carlyon and goonhavern finished the 1st half the stronger side. The 2nd half was much the same with us having alot of the ball but goonhavern having the better chances. We were rewarded for our efforts when a goal bound volley from graham stirr was flicked in by mark miller. a draw was probably a fair result overall. best of luck to Craig and goonhavern for the rest of the season, next up for us st buryan in the area semi of the junior cup

Richard Chown Posted January 29, 2012 Author Report Posted January 29, 2012 Trelawny Premier 28/01/12 Falmouth Albion 3 Carharrack AFC 0 A below par performance by Carharrack saw them defeated away against fellow struggler's Falmouth Albion on a cold afternoon at Dracaena Park. In what was quite a mundane game, Falmouth Albion scored after only 27 minutes when Ross Hayden striked the back of the net from a direct free kick taken on the edge of the box. Both sides struggled to take their chances but Carharrack goalkeeper Jamie Chown managed to pull off a superb save just before half-time by tipping the ball over the crossbar keeping the visitors in the game. In the second half, their were very few chances but on the 74th, Albion forward Aaron Benney took the ball in from the right wing pass the Carharrack defence to score a well taken shot at goal. With just ten minutes to go poor defending from the visitors led to the final goal when Jack Foote almost with out challenge ran pass the back four to seal the game. Falmouth Albion deserved the win after making Carharrack pay for a lack of fire power up front. Match Official: Paul Minns

Poor. nothing against troon reserves they are a good bunch of lads . but you really dont want to play at troon when they have two games on . we were shoved in a shed no showers no lights no key to lock door . this is 2012 and its been a long time since we played somewhere with no showers. most of the lads still went in for a drink but you couldnt blame anyone who shot straight home. anyway rant over and good luck to troon reserves for the rest of the season . also on a more positve note it was nice to see my old team mate shaun clinton warming up his son before the combo game

Guest BenTheYeti Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 Div 3 Hayle 3rds 5 - 0 Halsetown Reserves Hayle played very well, especially on the break. Could have ended about 8-2 First 40 minutes were like the Alamo for Halsetown, lucky to only be 2-0 down. Hayle had a man sent off for foul language then Halsetown awarded a pen which was put over the bar. Second half was quite scrappy, Hayle made their chances count, Halsetown had a few late on but the game was well over by then. Think a record was set for number of times the ball came off the woodwork.. they'll need repainting after that onslaught! Halsetown away in the cup at Constantine next week after first match was abandoned in October due to a very bad leg break. Hope the lad is doing well in his recovery and to hopefully see him at the game on Saturday so the lads can wish him all the best.
RAPPO Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 CULDROSE (1) 4 FROGPOOL (0) 0 Pretty spot on comments from the Culdrose lads, a well deserved win for the Div 3 champions elect i would have thought?! Didn't get there until 10 minutes after kick off and missed the first goal but we didn't help ourselves with some mistakes which all led to goals. Culdrose very good experienced team, fit, tall, strong, solid at the back with plenty of goals in them and looking good to win it in my view although yet to play Athletic away which will be a good one no doubt? Referee Mr. John Tweedie absolutely superb all afternoon, did not blow his whistle unless he had to, no fuss, no drama, let the game flow and a couple of tackles that could have turned nasty was calmed down straight away and handshakes all round, man of the match!!!

1ofthekids Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 Lizard Argyle 4-1 St.Just (HT 2-0) A closer game than the scoreline reflects. St.Just scored after 10 minutes when a header was 2-foot over the line but the refs vision was blocked so couldn't give the goal. 2 futher great chances created by Joe Sturgeon were poorly finished. An excellent Damon Nicholls freekick was matched by the Lizard keeper. Lizard had a chance after half hour when put through on goal but blasted well wide. However Lizard scored 2 goals in quick succesion, both coming from the back post, that St.Just failed to defend. In the 2nd half a tame freekick was spilled by the St.Just keeper allowing a simple tap in to make it 3-0 and shortly after it became 4-0 when a cross-shot squeezed past the goalkeeper. Inbetween these 2 goals St.Just hit the bar and produced another excellent save from the goalkeeper via 2 Damon Nicholls freekicks. St.Just pulled it back to 4-1 when Joe Sturgeon finally managed to score after an excellent dummy by Scott Meagor. Lizard could've made it 5 in the last minute, when their centre half was up from a corner and had the ball squared back to him with a completely open goal and a yard out. However he tried to break the net off but ended up kicking it down the lighthouse!! £250 if anyone's got it on video! Lizard manager in the centre of midfield was the best player on the pitch by a long way. Also thanks for the food afterwards!
Martin Eddy Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 Penryn 3rds 1 Holmans res. 2 this was the second game in two weeks against each other.would like to say that both games were enjoyable apart from last weeks result !!! both teams tried to play football with no malice or moaning, just a shame we had to play on the 2nd pitch when the main one was not in use. still thanks to penryn for two competitive and fair games and good luck for the season as long as you finish below us just like to add welldone to both refs as well
