very dissapointed with the draw... i think both sets of fans and players could agree the game was slightly ruined by alot of bookings, and inconsistencies..with tackles etc. few penalty decisions turned down for us.. but the pen at the end was right. we should have finished it off and made it 3 nil in the second half.

Holman sc 3-1 Porthleven fc

Att - 20

Holman goalscorer

Aaron Meridith (3)

This was a massive game for both sides who are currently at the wrong end of the table. Holmans knew a win could lift them out of the bottom 2 with their next 3 games including the Port game being against the sides immediately above them so were under no illusions they were entering a crucial sequence of games.

Conditions were perfect at blaythorne and as the game began holmans Aaron Meridith and forward Jamie cooper were proving a handful for the visitors defence. The breakthrough came from a through ball from Neil Pitt (ok I admit it was a miss kicked punt aimed for Jamie cooper) that fell into the path of Meridith who raced through and calmly slotted the ball past Barry Hennessy 1-0. The 2nd was very similar to the 1st as the ever "youthful" Simon lavis returning after a 3 week injury found Meridith who took the score to 2-0. Holmans were in the driving seat but Porthleven to their credit were the better side in the final 10min of the 1st half and holmans had to rely on two excellent reflex saves from Ben Minns in goal.

Ht 2-0

Fairly even exchanges at the start of the 2nd half until it became squeaky bum time for the home side as port got a goal back from a looping header from a corner that was just to high for the height of rob"oompa loompa" hoskings to head clear. Having squandered important leads already this season the home side had 10 minutes of nervous play once again calling on the excellent Minns to pull off an acrobatic save. The all important goal came in the 77th min when a shot from Meridith was fumbled by the Porthleven keeper who had replaced Barry hennessy at half time due to an injured foot the ball crossed the line restoring holmans two goal lead. A fierce free kick shot from centre half Scott Thomas nearly took the score to 4 if not for a finger tip save from the port keeper

Full time 3-1

Massive 3 points for holmans who now entertain Newquay at blaythorne next week kick off 2:30pm

Back foUr were on song yesterday. Marked Shane Richards out of the game. Most of St Day's attacks were from Danny Ford.

Tiffer and me have gone grey overnight!

Our keeper, Scott Halliday kept spilling the ball in first half but during the second a safe pair of hands.

Our first away point of the season and our first with an non enhanced side, since we played Hayle at home.
