WHOOPS.....We at saltash were informed that the game was postponed by Bodmin on wednesday as the pitch was waterlogged and had no chance of recovery by the weekend. Seemed strange to postpone it that early but fair play if it is that bad!!!!!! Must be a massive concern for the rest of the season.

Nanpean 0 - St. Stephen 5

T. Hooper 2

J. Wilmott 3

Thanks to Nanpean for playing the game, was very wet and could easily have been called off! Good luck to them for the rest of the year!

Probus 1: 0 Parkway

Great 3 points for probus today!and again a hard game! Parkway a well organised tough team! Hard conditions again on a tough pitch! Both teams had chances! Fabian richards in goal

For probus today had a good game!also justin trebilcock cleared a header off of the goal line in the last few minutes. A well worked goal for probus late in the second half a few passes from the back broke down the left wing with a good cross from dan vincent which shorty took well an some how managed to take a touch an volley the ball home for the only goal of the game!!the last few minutes probus held on well!! Chris davey even got a last few minutes cameo roll Nd made one good header out!!not bad for a 45 yearold!!

Not a good day for Parkway today. Horrible pitch at Probus, but fair play to them they battled for every ball and won every tackle. Too many parkway players just going through the motions, no one tackling and kept punting the ball long. To top it all half time coffee was more like syrup, all in all a bad day!

Jefferson hog, I also watched this game and agree it was a good competitive game. I thought on chances Tavy could have scored a few more, but Bere also had some good chances. Thought your keeper 'mark' had a steady game and I cant believe with your set up, you cant get a regular keeper.(No disrepect meant to mark) but I know he can do a job outfield and would probably prefer to be outfield. Thought Martin reffed it sensibly and although neither team will agree on all decisions, I also thought both assistants had a good game too. Thought the pitch looked good considering the weather we have had.

I know with the Tavy first team game being called off, it would have been easy for you to come on and say you were beaten by Tavy playing 'first teamers' but fair play you havnt made such a comment. For those interested the only regular 1st teamers who played were Jarryd Kelly (playing 90 mins for the 2nd time in (13 weeks) after coming back from a long term injury, and Dan Pethick who came on for the last 20 minutes.

Yeah, to be fair Tavy thoroughly deserved their win today and yes only Jarryd Kelly (from the 1sts) played the whole 90 minutes with Peth's coming on for 20 minutes or so.....Game was already won by then to be honest.

Jason Cordice missed a great chance at 0-0 and Jamie Castle made one or two other good saves in the 1st half with Tavy's goal well taken by Ian Rook.

Rook waltzed through a static Bere defence for his and Tavy's 2nd on the hour and to be fair from then on they were rarely troubled.

Normally it's us who have a better team spirit that drives the team on to to victory in these local derby affairs but have to say that it was Tavy who showed those qualities today and a few of my lads gave below par performances.

Particularly impressed with Chris Holte in CM for Tavy and Dean Southcott did a good job to keep Marcus Pethick pretty quiet.

st stephens borough 1 morwenstow 4

a very even game which the scoreline dont reflect .

borough with all there problems played very well and looked like a good side , we played well and went 4 0 up and to be fair borough kept battling to the end . borough had a very good chance in the 2nd half but only a world class save kept them out . boroughs goal was world class best goal i seen this season . great game by both teams . andy wright was man of the match quality player . also borough keeper made a fantastic save and was class throughout the game...

St Stephens Borough V Morwenstow, played in the right spirit by both teams with a couple of great saves from the keepers, class goal for St Stephens and not a lump of mud in sight

I would like to say Parkway didn't deserve to win today but they didn't ! ! Poor effort from the lads letting the management down ! . Would also say ! Probus pitch is a joke for this league and the ref was the worst ref we have had this season by a mile ! How 2 of their players stayed on the pitch after clear stamps on the parkway players is nothing but a joke ! ! Probus more suited to rugby than football ! Awful !

Sometimes in football you just dont get what you deserve, we had enough clear cut chances to win 2or3 games let alone 1, between a poor pitch and our lads shooting boots it has cost us 2points, throw in 1 of the worst penalty decisions against us ive EVER seen it just was not going to be our day. To be honest and fair to villa they have taken 4points off us this season and are a decent side with 3or4 really good young players so the future looks bright for them. The game itself didnt start well for us and villa took the lead inside 10minutes of which they dominated, but then we got into gear and created numerous chances and wasted every1 of them with there keeper not even tested just big blaring misses, so we trailed 1 0 at half time god only knows how. In the 2nd half we kept on creating and making good chances but again just couldnt find the equalizer, but villa were always good on the break and were dangerous in spells. With 20 minutes remaining we eventually got what we deserved with a glancing header from Ryan crabb from a free kick, then there only looked 1 winner but we just could not put the dam thing in the net, which cost us dearly as the ref gave villa a pen from absolutley nothing, no appeal from anyone player, supporter, or bench, his words were HE HEARD A KNOCK .with there player still standing( say no more). But great credit to my players we put an extra man through the middle for the last 5minutes and made a couple of chances of which 1 we scored from Charlie blair working it well with fellow sub Paul cowling. Very disappointed to drop 2 points when our keeper didnt really have any saves to make and our boys couldnt hit a barn door, but with a poor pitch, a soft pen, trailing twice in the game and 1 2 down with 5 to go we will take point.

Sticker home next sat. we owe them a performance as they have nailed us twice already (once cup, once league)

JayC I appreciate your kind comments about Probus!!!

As a Probus player I accept the pitch yest was awful as it was the previous week against Saltash but i'm sure there are other pitches in a similar condition to ours due to the adverse weather we've had recently. I watched St Austell on fri against Buckland and the pitch was awful ( not having a go at St Austell as only couple weeks ago it was looking superb).

Also when we played you at Parkway last season the pitch was awful, I remember it well cos your 1st team manager Gez Baggott was there and none to pleased with the ref Al Johns for declaring the pitch playable.

In terms of yest game, the only incident where an alleged "stamp" could of happened was between your captain and our centre forward. If, as your saying, our centre forward stamped on your captain then yes he should have been sent off. I was too far away to see what happened. As for another stamp during the game I cannot recall any such incident or allegation from your team.

You fail to mention however, how your centre midfielder should have been sent off within the first 10 minutes for telling the referee to "F@@K OFF".

As for your comment re rugby, I find that slightly hypocritical considering some the tackles dished out by Parkway players in previous games between us.

All in all I thought it was a well contested game which we deservedly won (in my opinion).

I wish Parkway all the best for the rest of the season

Thanks Martin for letting me know who Jefferson Hog was. Id always thought it was Marks brother Mike and I nearly mentioned it when I spoke to him! Will catch up with them both at the return fixture at Tavy. (dont think Tavy have played them at home yet)? Bit embarrassed when I got into the ground and was asked for a donation, always happy to support local football and as an ex Bere player from years back I was happy to pay something. The problem was all I had was some notes and 38p in change! sorry to say handed over the 38p and apologised! Kim who was taking the donations recognised me from my Bere days and that made me feel worse!! I promised to catch up with him again and give more generously next time!

Good little report. Totally agree, 4-1 does not reflect how a struggling St Stephens Borough played. A quite a few players for Borough that I didnt recognise that seem to be good little signings. Left winger played very well and of course Andy Wright as always! Who was the new Lad that scored for Borough? Also looked the part. Unbelievable goal!

All in all a great game. Well done Manstow for picking up the points.

Only reason Kim was taking donations was because I had done a match programme but, when asked, the supporters weren't prepared to pay for it.

One guy offered a donation so Kim decided it would be a good idea to keep that going if people didn't want a programme.

We don't normally do it (ask for donations that is) but I usually run off a few programmes for the home game against Tavy and also did some for our Devon Premier Cup games this season.

One way of keeping up with the SWPL Reserve sides in our League that charge admission from our small band of supporters.

Coach KT, not having a go about asking for a donation. Always hard for an ECPL Club that dont own the ground to ask an admission fee. Its a shame to watch people climbing over the hedge to avoid paying something to watch a game. I was hoping to see kim down the Victoria club and pay my dues! but he wasnt there. If you had done a football card I would have had a couple of goes. Great hospitallity and the food was great. We were offered some food and as a supporter I thought this was a nice gesture.

Garf, this week I was going to offer a promotion on coal .But all staff have been informed to charge you full price!

your welcome mate

thanks about your comments towards my refereeing too

2 cards only for a local derby as well

Thought you did well in what was a difficult game with plenty of hard tackles. Thought poss another couple of cards could have been shown but all in all a good game to be a part of and a good result for us!

Perhaps if Smithy had seen your sly kick at Chris Bray, one of those extra cards would have been for you Solly  :SM_carton_y:
