have been wondering why the clubs have the colours they do,pendeen have amber,st just green and black,penzance black and white,but what came first the nickname or the colours,just thought it might be a good historical subject

RNAS Culdrose wear sky blue as do RNAS Yeovilton as it was adopted from the Naval Air Command Sports Colours.

also perranwell twins u also have a white kit then did u change to blue,also remember u in the 90s in a black and blue striped shirt,any ref to this or no,i just find this subject interesting

dave fish introduced black in the 90's. Another colour we had was maroon and yellow quarters. A black and blue kit used in 2000ish was deemed as too black to clash with the ref so we went back to stripes.

Will try and find some info out for you, we too are interested by the kit history.

Sure tradional colours are born out of whatever kit the club could get there hands on or whichever colour the manager at the time fancied... so probably not too much story behind it unlike professional clubs. might be wrong

ahh we added blue tape to the back of the infamous black kit so that it not clash with the ref!

Newquay AFC in 1906 (and possibly before) wore Red & White striped shirts, the clubs nickname 'The Peppermints' came from supporters mentioning that the shirts resembled a boiled peppermint sweet of that era.

When I look at a team photo of "any" club pre First World War they all seem to be playing in black and white!
