I'm just watching the highlights of Messis season as he wins the award for the third season running.

He really is something special. Ronaldo must wonder what he has to do. He himself is a wonderful footballer but if there's one person in the world you'd like to watch play football could it be anybody else other than Messi

I'm an old fogie,and i feel very fortunate to have seen Pele, Best and Maradona play live and in the flesh

I think though that this little genius trumps them all

Will agree that Messi is, by far, the best around at the moment. Have seen pretty much all the greats of the last 40 years. Who shall I add to your list of 3 .. Gullit, Platini, Zico, Muller, Netzer, Beckenbaur, Banks, Moore, Charlton, Van Basten, Rossi, Cruyff. It's the never ending debate cos you can't compare across generations. For me, one of the major factors is how long they were at the top of their game so 1 Pele, 2 Cruyff, 3 Messi, 4 Platini, 5 Gullit

Zidane was close but Zola not even top 10!! When u look @ players like beckenbuer, platini, charlton, best. I'd even have scholes above Zola. Don't get me wrong quality player but were on about best ever. Not Chelsea's best lol
